Sustainable Development
Sustainable development (SD) necessitates concerted efforts to construct an inclusive, sustainable, harmonious, and resilient future for both people and the planet. “Leave no one behind” stands as the defining principle of the 2030 Agenda for SD, signifying a collective commitment by all countries to collaborate. To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it is vital to reconcile three core aspects: economic growth, social equity, and environmental protection. The pursuit of SD doesn’t follow a linear nor solitary path. It requires the combined strength of science, technology, engineering, and policy (STEP) working in unison. Science-based solution provides profound insights into both natural and socio-economic Earth systems, directly influencing SD. Technology offers tools to address the dimensions of threats and challenges faced by SD. Engineering innovation practices consistently lead the way in translating ambitious goals into tangible changes aligned with SD. The coherent policies play a crucial role in balancing immediate socio-economic progress with long-term environmental protection, ensuring an equitable path towards sustainability. Each component contributes unique strengths, but it’s their synergy that propels transformative change.

The Innovation Geoscience(ISSN 2959-8753)是The Innovation的地球科学姊妹刊,通过开放获取(Open Access)的方式面向全球发表创新、严谨和前沿的重要地球科学研究进展。The Innovation Geoscience由西安交通大学程海教授(奥地利科学院院士)和University of Innsbruck的Christoph Spötl教授(奥地利科学院院士)共同担任主编。
