Chinese Language Professor-Researcher

This Regional Mexican University is located in the state of Oaxaca in a small costal town of Bahias de Huatulco. We are looking for a creative and hard-working professional to form part of an integral team of Language Teachers at University level. We want an individual who is interested in obtaining tenure with the University and becoming part of the permanent staff rather than someone who is a transient teacher. Only serious candidates should apply.

The hours are from Monday to Friday from 8:00a.m-1:00p.m and from 4:00p.m-7:00p.m. The candidate is required to teach 15 hours a week. Teachers teach 3-4 classes daily. The other hours are used for tutoring sessions, professional development activities, developing projects & writing articles within the University & the community.

The University position provides attractive benefits (annual bonus, savings plan, pension, healthcare, five weeks paid holiday).

Universidad del Mar (UMAR) is located in Huatulco on the southern coast of Oaxaca, Mexico.

The candidate must be a native Chinese speaker & a successful applicant will have a B.A. + Chinese Teaching Certification or an M.A. in a relevant field and 1 year of classroom teaching experience, preferably with young adult students.

Wage: Based on above credentials, most teachers earn $14,250 MXN per month, which is a very competitive local salary. The salary is paid in local currency via direct deposits into your bank account every 15th and last day of the month.  

The start date is for October 2021; however, the process to obtain a work Visa in Mexico can take some time.、
