Medusa /HOUSE OF KAWAKUBO 共同举办的Vogue Ball正式诞生！！为了庆祝我们身体里的趴体小怪兽们，舞会的主题就决定是“Club Kids 幻想曲”了厚！将会有迷幻的比赛项目让我们在最激烈的性别大混乱中创作、表演以及碾压T台、争夺奖杯！晚上10点半舞会准时开始，各个时期的voguing曲目即将让你欲仙欲死！当然也会有当晚的最佳着装奖比拼，不过记住这是一个以舞蹈为核心的Voguing Ball！舞会上严禁嘲讽任何人的造型喔~比赛项目包括 face, runway, Vogue OTA , lipsync，更多项目敬请期待~
Medusa /HOUSE OF KAWAKUBO have officially Kai Kai’d and gurl a Vogue Ball is born. To celebrate our inner Party Monster, the theme of the evening will be CLUB KID FANTASY. There will be categories for all the legendary children to stomp our runway, kiki and snatch trophies in your fiercest gender bending creations. The categories begin at 10:30pm sharp and voguing music from all eras will begin afterwards to turn your pussy out. Prizes will also be awarded with categories for Dancing & Look Queens honey，Categories, include Face, Runway, Vogue OTA , Lipsync and more.

"What is a Ball, You Ask?"
Ball是LGBT性少数社群（同性恋、双性恋、跨性别等）创造的最无与伦比的舞会文化体系！Ball由于纪录片《Paris is Burning》和美剧《Pose》而被大众所知，但她蕴含的一代代少数族群的情绪以及他们创造的历史和传奇故事远远不止于此。Ball最早起源于上世纪70-80年代纽约哈林区的拉丁裔和非裔性少数社群，每一个Ball都有多样化的categories（比赛项目），让具有不同特质的参与者可以各施所长，不管你是舞姿美还是脸蛋佳，都有得到喝彩的机会。House（家族文化）是Ball文化中诞生的重要内容，社群中有影响力的人站出来创建House，收养当时无家可归的年轻性少数人们，大家以同一个家族之名在生活中互相扶持照顾，共同抵抗当时气势汹汹的种族及性别歧视，共同抵抗来势汹涌的HIV爆发时代，也共同在Ball里为家族争取荣光。
不过说到底，这一切都是基于性少数社群，以及社群中的彼此扶持和救赎。
Of course Balls have been made famous by legendary programs such as Paris is Burning and Pose, but Balls go much farther back. Ball’s began in New York’s queer black and latino neighborhoods from the 1970’s and 80’s. Each Ball is broken into categories, where participants and Houses (a chosen gay family, for the uninitiated who need a glossary) walk or dance the runway against each other. Now, based on judges’ scores queens wins the category and receives a trophy, prize and titles. Balls have evolved over time to become competitive themed events that including very specific looks and voguing categories. But always they are about community and supporting the queer imagination.

For the first Ball it was only appropriate to celebrate the outrageous imagination of New York’s original Club Kids…. Turn up in your best imaginative gender bending creation that serves us nothing but your inner personal fabulousness, DIY creations, and party monster fantasy.

OLD WAY
这是最早的Voguing舞蹈方式，音乐风格通常是Disco和Chicago House。据说当年Paris Dupree为了调停两位女士的互相diss，打开了《Vogue》杂志让她们随着节拍摆pose进行比赛。后来大家都参与了进来开始大摆各式pose，“Pop Spin Dip”是Old Way最早的名字，顾名思义这种风格就是把Pop（震动）、旋转、Dip（摔）这些动作组合起来，同时还不断加入了哑剧、中国功夫、埃及舞、模特造型等等元素，最终成为优雅畅快行云流水的舞蹈风格。
This is the earliest form of Voguing, and a little “herstory”: it's said Paris Dupree originated voguing to stop two queens from throwing shade at each other by opening a copy of Vogue Magazine and posing like the models to the beat of the music. Everyone joined in and settled the argument by posing or Voguing….. So, Old Way is made by connecting pops, dips, spins and each movement is like “Posing for a Picture.” Its is highly influenced by ancient Egyptian portraits, Chinese martial arts, and the long slender bodies of super models. You must focus on creating exquisite & clean lines with your body. This style is driven by disco, and early Chicago house.

NEW WAY
这种风格使用的音乐类型是House、Techno、Tribal House等。时间来到80-90年代，一些芭蕾舞者、体操运动员等开始加入Ball文化，他们夸张的柔韧度和肢体开发带来了全新的表演视角和舞蹈感觉。Voguing Ball也开始从纽约哈林区的地下小场合搬到了诸如The Paradise Garage和Sound Factory这样的同性恋酒吧和舞池中，让这种风格更快地演化了起来，有了更夸张快速的手部表演以及爆炸性的舞蹈瞬间。
By the late 80’s and 90’s butch queens, modern ballet dancers and gymnists started entering vogue categories in balls, bringing more flexibility and acrobatics to the style. Vogueing moved from the Ball’s in Harlem to the gay dancefloors of The Paradise Garage and Sound Factory. This made New Way faster paced, emphasized quick hand motions (or illusions) and popping motions. This style is driven by house, techno, and tribal house and made famous by the likes of Willie Ninja and yes, Madonna.

VOGUE FEMME
90年代到21世纪初，一些Butch Queen（男同性恋舞者）的表演风格开始模仿Femme Queen（变性舞者）的女性化和柔软体态。这种舞蹈风格更注重用身体来“讲故事”，不再要求完美硬朗的线条和框架，更注重情绪表达，注重表演中从性感柔软到爆炸抓马的变幻。这个风格也是目前最常见的voguing风格，包含5个元素：Hands手部表演、Catwalk猫步、Duck Walk鸭子步、Floor Performance地板表演、Spin&Dip转摔。
In the 90’s and 2000’s dancers returned to the Old Way of Voguing but mimicked the motions and attitude of Fem Queens- which were more connected, fierce and filled with intense attitude. Vogue Femme is more about story telling, self expression and the drama of it all, it is less about perfect line in the body. Emotions should range from “Soft”, which is sexy and cat like to “Dramatic” which is aggressive and cunty. Vogue Femme has five general elements - Hands, Catwalk, Duckwalk, Floor Performance and Spin & Dip. It is driven largely by House and Ballroom.

“魔镜魔镜告诉我，谁是世界上最美丽的人儿！？！” 在这个Category中，没有人在乎你的6块肌或是马甲线。婊贝们也完全不需要在舞池里一较高下惹，你甚至可以路都不会走！如果强行跳舞都会被取消资格惹！但是你的脸蛋…脸蛋是你的一切！你可以美到让人闭嘴精咽，也可以惊悚到隔壁老王都不敢敲门，给评委们看到你最具创意的脸部造型和最杀的态度！派对婊贝们（club kids），你的脸准备好接客了吗？
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Who Has The Fiercest Mug of All?….Why You, Bitch. This category is for the queen who has us all gagging on her paint…and since you have beaten that mug for the gods, you need to sell, sell, sell it to the judges. Points are awarded for your ability to serve the CLUB KID FANTASY as well as realness, attitude, creativity and your ability to use your face as a piece of art. And stop relying on that body, points are only awarded for the presentation of that face (that’s why it’s called face, honey). Stunts = Disqualified.

“今夜谁是舞池里的热浪小婊贝！？！” 这个Category是VOGUING！！！感受动次打次的节奏！给我们美丽地旋转！展示出你最美的技巧和态度！得到你的🙌🏻Tens（海选通过）！然后在Battle中碾压所有小妖精惹！！！Slay全场就看你够不够骚了噜～
The floor is Open-To-All styles of voguing…For this category, feel the beat, turn it out and show us your skills, attitude, and ferocity in either Old Way, New Way or Vogue Femme. Mama, Get your 10’s 🙌🏻. Points will be awarded for technique, performance, creativity and your ability to slay the floor and the competition, Godammit.
3. （处女Voguing！）Vogue OTA - Virgin
这个Category仅开放给学习Voguing不超过1年的小婊贝们～
在舞池里寻找最初最刺激的感觉～也许下一个闪耀的Voguing女王就是你噜！
If you have only been Voguing for 1 year or less, or just a boy in a dress, this is your category. Turn the floor either Old Way, New Way, Vogue Femme or Your Way (please don’t), and show everyone who the new queen of the Ball is! 👑
4. （女步Runway）European Runway
“姐姐妹妹们，T台台步high起来！” 这个Category专门展示你走路的风采，想象你自己是一只鹤立鸡群的火烈鸟！昂头挺胸翘屁股！显示出你最美的台步、妆容和打扮！给裁判看看谁的派对彩鸡造型最惹火！鸡笼警告：这个项目中不需要跳舞，搔首弄姿欲望太强请适可而止移步Vogue OTA项目厚！
Sell the garment honey….for this category, you are judged on your ability to stomp the runway and serve us your Best Femme Club Kid Fantasy Look. Points are awarded for your signature walk, drag (we are all born naked the rest is….), femininity, creativity and performance. Now, Miss Thing this category isn’t a dancing contest, it’s a runway, so give us looks and attitude. stunts = disqualified. Heels are required and Shading the other queens is encouraged.

这个主题下，本宫需要各位尽情的喷射你们的雄性荷尔蒙、展现你们粗狂、战狼的一面！为了今晚，请忍痛将您的高跟置换成闪亮战靴！裁判们会基于你们派对战狼造型打分数～

Are you a real diva, or just a boy in a dress? For this category you need to sell the music, sell the words, make us believe you are Diana Ross herself. Points are awarded on performance, your ability to remember the words, and believability. Contestants must apply in advance by sending your wechat ID to Elevator's official account. You will be added to a group to receive the required music.

本项目是一个私密项目～报名仅限Voguing 界的Legendary 、Statement和Star参加 。在Voguing的文化里，家长先辈们的地位和重要性不言而喻，他们为Voguing的发展成长灌注颇多心血 。因此，每个舞会中都会有一个单独的项目来为这些致力于推广Voguing文化的Voguer们提供一个充满尊敬的舞台～这既是致敬，也是他们应得的荣誉！在场的所有人，请尊重这些先行者们！

中国 Voguing 文化推广者，中国大陆第一个正式的家族...... 我们是川久保家族（The KiKi House of Kawakubo），于 2018 年秋由 Irina Milan 创建，目前共 7 位成员。2016 年秋，Irina 来到中国，从那时起成员们逐渐汇聚，一起学习并不断进步，组成了上海 Vogue Crew。如今，共同成长两年多的我们，由最初的 “Shanghai Irina Vogue Crew” 变为了真正的家族。成员中有职业舞者，更有造型师、化妆师、程序员、植物学者。我们都为追逐人生中的艺术与美汇集于此，冠以 “Kawakubo” 之名，并肩一直同行下去。
The House of Kawakubo is the first official house in Shanghai. Founded by Irina Milan in November 2018 and currently has seven members. Members include all kinds of artist, professional dancers, stylists, makeup artists, programmers, botanists.. We are the promoters of Voguing culture. We've all come together here to pursue the art and beauty of life, under the name "Kawakubo," and we go on together.
