WATCH: Fire on Guijie, Beijing's Popular Hotpot Street
A fire broke out on Guijie (aka Ghost Street) this morning. A video shows a plume of smoke billowing from a rooftop near the popular strip of hotpot restaurants.
Multiple firetrucks were spotted on the scene. The fire has now been extinguished and the firetrucks were seen leaving Guijie around noon today.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. However, Weibo users are saying that the fire originated inside of a house located in the back of the restaurants.
One restaurant does appear to have been impacted by the blaze. There was no apparent fire damage to the main dining area. However, there were no customers inside and puddles of water were spotted on the floor indicating that firefighters had been inside the restaurant.
