Wang Kaifang, ‘Golden Wind’, 2016, at Shenzhen Center Tianyuan, China
Chinese artist Wang Kaifang, collaborated with UAP’s Shanghai studio to create Golden Wind, an ethereal golden sculpture for the lobby of the Shenzhen Centre building in Shenzhen, China. At 4.2m tall and 2.6m wide, the fluid and organic work appears to float like silk, weightlessly suspended. Fabricated in panel beaten stainless steel and finished with a 24-carat gold gilding, Golden Wind is a luminous representation of energy and emotion.

UAP curated the project, working through artist selection and commissioning. Upon selection, the team worked alongside Kaifang on the concept and design development of Golden Wind, through to managing the fabrication and installation of the work.
