中英对照《西村独扎诗选》“Selected Poems by Xicun Duzha” (Chinese-English)，已于2024年3月由The Earth Culture Press出版发行。该诗集系中国著名诗人、小说家西村独扎先生多年诗歌创作的精品集结。前勒口置有作者中文简介、彩色照片，后勒口置有作者英文简介。书末附有批评家逸子的《他闻见了阳光的味道——独扎诗论》和译者的中英文简介，全书共收录了诗歌力作82首（含组诗）。系国际诗歌翻译研究中心策划出版的“世界诗人书库”之一。

正如逸子所言: “在杭州，诗人西村陷入了卡夫卡式的纠缠中，一面是铁板一般的生活构造，僵硬的人类结构和平庸的官僚嘴脸，一面是内心炽热的呼喊，这构成了他诗歌中的第一重矛盾，不断认真地生活着，按照官僚们设计的框架四下撞击，又不断强烈地在内心反对和挣扎。”

Let’s return to the former time,

To before the sun shone on the house,

To before the Flood came,

To before we went into a deep slumber.

Let sunshine climb back to the slope;

Let water flow to wheat fields;

Let us fall in love again,

Let us forget about house, money and bank.

Let’s return to the former time,

To before cicadas sang in the trees,

To before fish was put on the dinner table,

To before we only wished to gaze at each other.

Let not cicadas’ singing wake us up from our singing;

Let fish play in water without being caught;

Let our hands touch each other’s face;

Let us forget dawn, day and night.

Let’s return to the former time,

To flowers in the moonlight;

To the light in the bachelor quarters.

Let us return to before we cohabited,

Let flowers bloom on their own.

Let us recount softly

Making the next-door bachelor lose his sleep.

To the botanical garden near the hospital;

To before I only thought wildly about your breast,

To when we kept a distance even when we walked side by side.

Let winter jasmines, apricot blossoms and peach blossoms

Bloom also in summer.

What I Saw on My Way to Work

An old woman

Was shooting at a basket

But there was no basket in the air.

But she shot

Time and again,

Caught the ball and shot again.

Another old woman

Watched nearby

Keeping a smile on the face.

This is what I saw

On my way to work.

月亮

月亮她不拉屎不说话

也不生产女儿

她只静静地挂在空中

月亮她不爱也不仇恨

不认识春天也不在意黎明

她只静静地斜过我们的肩

月亮有时像一个面包

有时像一只乳房

The Moon

The moon never shits nor speaks,

Nor does she give birth to a daughter.

She only hangs in the air quietly,

Bearing neither love nor hate,

Neither knowing spring nor minding dawn.

She only shines slant over our shoulders silently,

Shines slant over our roofs.

It is sometimes like a piece of bread,

Sometimes like a breast,

Feeding all the beings,

Never getting thinner,

Never speaking,

Never shouting revolutionary slogans,

Never sleeping,

Never being ambiguous,

Never praising herself.

I Want to Go to Heaven on My Bicycle

I want to go to heaven on my bicycle

Like riding on the prairie

Pedaling hard.

Like a plane taking off

I made the front wheel leave the ground first,

Then the back wheels,

Rushing to the blue air.

I would like to stroll over the clouds,

Going to the Tibetan plateau

To see how vultures peck and eat the corpses,

Going over the Euphrates

To stop the five-year civil war in Syria by puffing a breath,

Going over the Indian Ocean

To find the lost MH370,

Going to the Korean Peninsula

To see that nuclear weapons and missiles retreat to the bores,

Going to Kilimanjaro

To enjoy the Amazon rain forest.

I just want to ride a bicycle,

Going around freely,

Looking around freely.

一只虫子和另一只虫子

一只叫不出名字的虫子

骑在另一只同样叫不出名字的虫子上面

他们一齐往前走

我怀疑它们在交媾

当骑在上面的那只虫子

从另一只虫子身上下来的时候

我发现下面那只

原来是尸体

我要把这过程拍下来

陈现制止了我

我不知道他制止我的理由

他也不回答我的提问

就像那只虫子同样

对我的质疑

从不理睬

A Bug and Another Bug

A bug whose name I cannot tell

Rode on another bug that I cannot name

And they walked forward together.

I thought they were making love.

When the one on the other bug

Got off from the other’s back,

I found the one below

Was a dead body.

I meant to take photos to record the whole process.

But Chen Xian stopped me.

I did not know why he stopped me.

He did not answer my any question.

Just like the bug below,

He took no notice of my doubts.

At most I

Punctuation mark

Noticed by nobody,

In a residential quarter.

Perhaps you can

Amplify

This point.

But no matter how big,

It cannot be

Bigger

Than the mobile screen.

Even if it is made as big

As the mobile screen,

It cannot guarantee

That my face

Is distinct.

浮云

从汽车的后座

望出去

我看见一片浮云

飘过天空

那是一片清澈的浮云

白色  轻薄

没被污染

我看见它飘过去了

然后我就看不见了

Floating Clouds

From the car’s backseat

I looked out

And saw a floating cloud

Flying across the sky,

So clear,

So white, so thin,

Not polluted.

I saw it float by

诗人小传

     西村独扎，曾用笔名西村、达达、杜撰、独扎、芒非等。中国当代著名诗人、小说家。1969年9月生于浙江浦江。学的是金融，供职于银行，用心于文学。上个世纪八十年代末开始写诗，本世纪初开始写小说。著有诗集《发》《三号线》《乳房与月亮》（中韩双语）、《在下面》《不存在的诗篇》等五部，长篇小说《赤道》；中篇小说《纪念少女潘金莲》曾在网络盛传。部分作品被译为英语、日语和韩语等。

Brief introduction to the poet

Xicun Duzha, with other pen names such as Xicun, Dada, Duzhuan, Duzha, Mangfei, is a famous contemporary Chinese poet and novelist. He was born in Pujiang of Zhejiang Province in September, 1969. He studied economics and works in a bank but is devoted to poetry. He began to write poetry by the end of 1980s and began to write novels at the beginning of the 21st century. His poetry collections include Hair, Line 3, The Breast and the Moon (in Chinese and Korean), Underneath, Nonexistent Poems. His novel includes The Equator. His novella In Memory of the Maiden Pan Jinlian was widely spread on the internet. Some of his works have been translated into English, Japanese and Korean.

译者简介

李正栓，河北师范大学外国语学院二级教授、北京大学文学博士、英国斯特灵大学荣誉博士、博士生导师。省高校教学名师、省社会科学优秀青年专家、省中青年社科专家五十人工程人员、省有突出贡献的中青年专家。

教育部外国语言文学类专业教学指导委员会英语专业教学指导分委员会委员、教育部高等学校翻译专业教学协作组成员、国务院学位办第三届全国翻译专业学位研究生教育指导委员会学术委员会委员。

About the translator

Li Zhengshuan, second-level professor at School of Foreign Studies in Hebei Normal University, PhD of Peking University, Honorary doctorate of University of Stirling, PhD supervisor. In Hebei Province, he is a university top teacher, an excellent middle-aged & young expert in social sciences, a middle-aged & young expert in social sciences in the “Fifty People Project”, a middle-aged & young expert who made outstanding contributions.

He is a member of the Ministry of Education’s English Branch of the Steering Committee for Teaching Foreign Language and Literature, a member of the Ministry of Education’s Coordinating Group for Teaching in Translation Major in Institution of Higher Learning, a member of the academic board of the third-term All-China MTI Steering Committee of the State Council’s Office of Degree Committee.

He is concurrently a standing council member of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese (CACSEC) , a standing council member of Translation Association of China, chair of Professional English Translation Committee of Classics under CACSEC, acting chair of the Professional Committee of Traditional Culture and International Communication under China Research Association for Promotion of Traditional Chinese Medicine, vice chair of Professional Committee of Translation and Interpreting (PCTI) of CACSEC, vice chair of Northeast Asia International Forum on Linguistics, Literature and Teaching, chief editor of Northeast Asia Foreign Language Forum, chairman of editorial committee of Horizon Academic, vice chair of China English Poetry Research Association, chair of Foreign Language Steering Committee for Teaching of Hebei Institution of Higher Learning, chair of Foreign Language Teaching Research Association of Hebei Institution of Higher Learning, chair of Hebei Shakespeare Society, chair of Hebei Translation Society.

In recent years, he has published many translation books of English translation of Mao Zedong’s poems, Yuefu poems, select Hebei plays, Tibetan gnomic verses including Sakya Gnomic Verses, Geldan Gnomic Verses, Gnomic Verses about Water and Tree, Cultivation of Kings, English translation of Tsangyang Gyatso’s poems, and many papers on them. He has also translated over 600 of Burns’ poems.
