We're thrilled to be welcoming everyone back to Egg! Here are all the things to look forward to in the month ahead:  

MENU

We're running a classic, all-day menu with weekly blackboard specials, including a rotation of delicious soups. This month's cake special is: ricotta cheesecake on black sesame crust.

We make our own ricotta in-house and use it in our light + fluffy recipe, topped off with a forest berry compote. It’s available in-store as well as for pre-order + delivery. Just zip us a message 24 hours before you need your ricotta cheesecake (¥220), by adding WeChat user ID: eggcafe.

M.S.G.: A Restaurant Residency at Egg

Chef Austin Hu of Heritage by Madison is kicking off a month-long, evening pop-up at Egg, dishing out soulful small plates and wines inspired by his love of izakaya culture, street food and drunken, late-night romps through New York City. 

M.S.G. is all about straight-up, no-holds-barred good eats, with nothing sacred – very firmly no microgreens or tweezers in sight! Austin will be smashing together flavors and techniques to a soundtrack of classic hip-hop. Think, “fried cheeseburger gyoza,” and you’ll be on the right path… 

Pricing is accessible, ranging from small bites (40 rmb – 60 rmb) to sharing plates (80 rmb – 90 rmb). A “Feed Me” menu is also available at 228 rmb per person, which showcases the spirit of M.S.G. at its fullest. For drinks, they'll be serving minimal-intervention wines, batched cocktails and fun, lo-no A.B.V. cocktails.

M.S.G. will be open on Friday + Saturday nights from 19:30 - midnight at Egg, beginning on Friday, 13 March.M.S.G. will also run a limited take-away service, for those just looking to bring some soul back to their crib.

THE LOFT GALLERY

Egg curates a monthly-changing art exhibition in the upstairs Loft Gallery, by native and expatriate locals, bringing creativity and inspiration to the community. This month we are delighted to show the embroidery work of artist Nicholas Bruder. 

Primarily an actor and dancer, Nicholas has been making things with his hands to remedy the fleeting work of the stage. Starting at an early age with origami, he began to appreciate his dad's help with sewing elastic onto his ballet shoes, and applied his mom's wisdom and determination to pick up his grandmother’s embroidery hoop. Nicholas soon found stitching much more enjoyable than coloring inside the lines. He's worked around the world, lugging his needles and threads, beads and sequins, sewing and stitching whenever and wherever he gets an itch. 

Exhibiting until the end of March.

Just so you know, we're upholding our usual, high hygiene standards while rolling with updated sanitation procedures. At Egg, we always uphold a safe and sanitary environment, through proper disinfecting of all surfaces, equipment and service ware, twice a day; purchasing our supplies via legally qualified suppliers; closely monitoring our team's travels well as daily health statuses; ensuring that all team members wear surgical gloves and masks at all times; and that anti-bacterial and anti-viral soaps and sanitizers are available to all in-store. 

We're proud of the safe space we've been providing our customers and friends over the years, and we're proud to continue providing a comforting place for everyone, every damn day!
