President Xi Jinping extended greetings to the volunteers, volunteer service organizations and volunteer service work staff in a congratulatory letter sent to the second congress of the China Volunteer Service Federation (CVSF). Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said volunteer service marks the progress of social civilization.

水利部将利用2年至3年时间全面建立起节水标准定额体系。根据水利部计划，节水标准定额体系由105项节约用水定额、29项节水技术规范、4项节水载体评价标准和9项产品水效标准组成。
The Ministry of Water Resources will establish a system of standard quotas for water usage in the next two to three years to better conserve water. According to the ministry, the water conservation standard quota system will consist of 105 water conservation quotas, 29 water conservation technological codes, 4 water conservation carrier evaluation standards and 9 product water efficiency standards.
