外交部“翻译女神”姚梦瑶英文致辞：学英语的意义

■ On a serious note, what do we learn from debating. 从严肃的角度来看，我们从辩论中能学到什么。
I see in all the contestants the quality of being aspiring, adaptable and absorbed, three As.我在所有参赛者身上看到了有抱负、有适应性、有吸收力这三个 "A "的品质。

■ I learned that debating is more about reasoning, not arguing. It’s as much about getting your message across as listening to what others have to say. It’s more about being open-minded and tolerant than outwitting others or winning the game. Ignite curiosity and inspire action. That’s what debating is all about.我了解到，辩论更多的是讲道理，而不是争论。它既要传达你的信息，也要倾听别人的意见。与战胜他人或赢得比赛相比，更重要的是要有开放的心态和宽容的态度。点燃好奇心，激发行动。这就是辩论的意义所在。

一、如何学好英文？

The professor told us if we want to learn English well, we need to talk in English and think in English and listen.

I try to think in English critically, every minute, every day for the rest of my undergraduate years. I talk to myself in English all the time; I talk to myself in English in my dreams.

教授告诉我们，如果我们想学好英语，我们需要用英语说话，用英语思维。

在本科剩下的几年里，我每天每一分钟都在努力用英语进行对话。我总是用英语自言自语;哪怕在梦里，我也在用英语自言自语。

二、如何像英文母语者一样讲话？

1. Basic skills matter. Pronunciation, intonation and grammar. Your voice emotion, pitch and pace. Those seemingly trivial details shape the first impression.
1.基本技能。发音、语调和语法。你的声音情感，音高和节奏。那些看似琐碎的细节塑造了第一印象。

2. Get every single detail right and you will shine. You need to know how to carry yourself on stage, to drive your point home.

2. 把握好每一个细节，你就会熠熠生辉。你需要知道如何在台上表现自己，把你的观点讲清楚。

三、从辩论中学到了什么？

Three As:

Aspiring ：Open a window, a wider world. Debating nurtures an inquisitive mind and a compassionate heart.

Adaptable: Every debater has to adapt to the role.

Absorbed: It takes time. For every two minutes of glamor, there are eight hours of hard work.

三个点：

有志:打开一扇窗，一个更广阔的世界。辩论可以培养我们头脑保持好奇和富有同情心的心灵。

适应性:每个辩手都必须适应自己的角色。

吸收:这需要时间。每两分钟的辩论，背后就有八小时的艰苦工作。
