地球日，英语怎么说？Earth, the planet 含义有什么不同？

今天是第53个 “世界地球日”，年度主题为 “投资我们的星球”，强调不仅是心态上关心我们所在的环境，更应该身体力行，用 “投资” 展现行动力。

Earth, the earth 地球 相关 earth, 而 earth, 常让我们想起 陆地，地面，大地，泥土；the planet 地球，特别指环境。说到环境，不仅与土地相关，还与水资源、大气等相关。所以，投资我们的星球，不用 Earth 或 the earth 而用 planet.

Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.

Earth Day is every day , and anywhere you are. On Earth Day, April 22, 2020, we have two crises: One is the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The other is a slowly building disaster for our climate.

We can, will and must solve both challenges. The world was not prepared for the novel coronavirus. But we still have time to prepare—in every part of the world—for the climate crisis.

On Earth Day 2020, we say enough is enough. We say we believe in science. We say that everyone can make a difference. We say that the protection of our planet and the well-being of the people who live upon it are the top priorities.

On Earth Day 2020, we seize all the tools and actions that we have, big and small, to change our lives and change our world, not for one day, but forever.
