Shirui Zhang realised that the benefits gained during university should not be limited to just a degree, but rather a comprehensive shaping of herself. With such determination, she embarked on her wonderful journey at UNNC, studying for a degree in International Business Economics.

在高考后的一场招生咨询会上，张诗睿被宁波诺丁汉大学（以下简称：宁诺）学生独有的气质所吸引。“宁诺学生在咨询会上展现出来的精神风貌会是我理想中自己在大学的状态，青春洋溢，热情开朗，同时有前瞻的视角和清晰的规划。”她意识到，大学期间的收获不应该仅限于一张文凭，更是对自己全方面的塑造。带着这样的决心，张诗睿开启了在宁诺的精彩旅程。
向上的力量
大学生活相对强压下的高中生涯更加开放自由，如何把握时间是一门学问。“我会拥有大量的时间去选择和尝试，于是我去学习西班牙语，学习特许金融分析是（CFA）和金融风险管理师FRM，参加足球校队，做义工，参加各种社团组织和实践活动。我认为在没有明确自己未来方向的情况下，选择多赛道奔跑，可以去发掘自身所有的可能性。”
也正是因为这种“探索”，让张诗睿慢慢摸索出了一条适合自己的道路，到了大二大三，无论是学习、生活还是社会实践，她都可以安排得井井有条。她说，这还因为自己的身边总是围绕着一股向上的力量。
参加校足球队
“我非常幸运的是，周遭无论是老师还是学长学姐，他们都会向我传递一种向上的信号，督促我不要停下脚步。所有你期望的尝试，学会的技能，可能短时间内于申研或者就业无益，但是你所掌握的永远不会欺骗你。”
参加招生活动
在大学四年中，张诗睿一直是湖州地区招生负责人，并和学校多个部门的老师一起做项目，这也算是一种“春风风人，夏雨雨人。”其次，她担任了两次毕业典礼的主持人，并且也在策划今年的毕业舞会，锻炼了大型活动的组织能力，控场和演讲水平。其中值得一提的是，2019年，张诗睿加入WEAVER organisation，在这个充满着正能量的社团中，一步步从部门萌新做到社团主席。

宁诺的学生社团都由学生自主运营和发展，WEAVER主要负责学生志愿者的招募与培训来支持学校各类招生工作，承办各类企业校招会，以及支持各项学生发展事务。
张诗睿以满腔的热情投入到社团活动中，在一次次的招生活动和承办企业宣讲会的过程中，她不断提升专业能力和人际交往能力。
如何成为实习“收割机”
拥有在奥美广告、安永会计师事务所、中国银行、兴业证券等知名企业的实习经历，张诗睿从不畏惧与来自国内顶尖高校学生同台“竞技”。她认为，这份自信来源于在诺丁汉大学商学院（中国）的积累与沉淀。
在安永会计师事务所实习
除了商业理论课程，张诗睿表示商学院还会教授一些实践应用性很强的课程，例如如何使用办公软件，如何撰写一份商业计划书。另外，由于课程作业中有很大一部分由小组作业组成，这又极大地锻炼了学生的团队合作能力和公开演讲能力，这些能力的培养在真实的工作环境中都非常重要。
对于如何获得实习机会，张诗睿也颇有心得与体会。
“大家可以多参加宁诺组织的企业宣讲，因为可以跟企业代表面对面交流，所以更容易获得直接面试的机会；其次大家可以定向关注一些社交媒体上的账号，比如小红书或者微博上；还有，学长学姐的内推机会。大家在日常中注意技能培养，然后可以从小公司积累经验，这样就有足够的底气去申请大厂的实习岗位。“
未来的探索与规划
一次偶然的机会，张诗睿在实习中接触了“碳中和+”这个概念。随着国家对碳中和的愈加重视，她看到了“碳管理”对于企业规避潜在风险以及提高可持续发展竞争力的重要性。所以她决定将未来的职业发展赛道锁定在“碳管理”上。
目前，张诗睿已经收到来自英国华威大学、曼彻斯特大学等四所高校的录取通知书，同时她还在等待爱丁堡大学碳管理专业的offer。她选择读研的初衷是希望自己从商科专业出发，在研究生阶段去探索相关的细分领域，并且深耕和碳中和相关的方向。她认为过往多赛道奔跑的经历，在此刻仍能支持她在“碳管理”这个专业方向上的学习与探索。
回首过往四年，张诗睿在一次次的摸索与实践中明晰了自己的未来方向，找到了心中的火种。希望她可以带着宁诺人的自信、决心和恒心继续前行，扬帆起航。
Shirui Zhang: My wonderful journey at UNNC
Since high school, Shirui Zhang made it clear that she wanted to go to a Sino-foreign joint university. At a consultation session after her National College Entrance Examination, she was deeply attracted by the unique traits of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC): "The spirit and outlook exhibited by UNNC students at the session is the state I imagined myself to be in at university - youthful, enthusiastic, and outgoing, while also being very professional." She realised that the benefits gained during university should not be limited to just a degree, but rather a comprehensive shaping of herself. With such determination, Shirui Zhang embarked on her wonderful journey at UNNC, studying for a degree in International Business Economics.
Under the relative pressure of high school life, university life is more open and free, and how to manage time was a subject of learning. Shirui explained that "I had a lot of time for choices, so I learnt Spanish, took on the CFA and FRM, participated in football school teams, volunteered, and participated in various club organisations and practical activities. I believe that lacking a clear understanding of my true pathway led me to walk on multiple tracks to explore my possibilities."
It was precisely because of this "exploration" that Shirui slowly explored a path best suited for her. In her second and third years, she could arrange her study, life and social practices in an orderly manner. She also said that this was also because there has always been a force propelling her: "I am very fortunate that both the teachers and senior students around me encouraged me, urging me not to stop. All the attempts and skills you expect and learn may not be beneficial immediately when applying for graduate school or employment, but what you have mastered will never lead you astray."
In 2019, Shirui joined the WEAVER organisation, being mainly responsible for the recruitment and training of student volunteers to support various recruitment activities, and was also responsible for undertaking various job fairs.
She has been full of passion and has improved her professional and interpersonal skills since joining the organisation and growing from a novice in the department to the president of WEAVER.
With internship experiences in Ogilvy & Mather, Ernst & Young and other well-known enterprises, Shirui is never afraid to show her confidence on the same stage with students from other top universities in China. She believes that this confidence comes from her accumulation at Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China).
In addition to business theory modules, Shirui stated that NUBS China also teaches courses with strong practical applications, such as how to use Microsoft Office and how to write a business plan. Furthermore, since a large portion of the module assignments consists of group assignments, this greatly enhances students' teamwork and public speaking abilities, which are crucial in the real work environment.
By chance, Shirui came into contact with the concept of "carbon neutrality" during her internship at Ernst & Young. With the increasing emphasis on carbon neutrality by the country, she saw the importance of carbon management for enterprises to avoid potential risks and improve sustainable development competitiveness. Therefore, she decided to focus her future career development on carbon management.
At present, Shirui has received offers from four universities, including the universities of Warwick and Manchester, and she is still waiting for an offer from the University of Edinburgh in Carbon Management. Her plan is to choose a business degree to explore relevant sub-fields during her graduate studies, as well as delve deeper into breakthroughs related to carbon neutrality. She believes that her past experience of running on multiple tracks will still support her learning and exploration of carbon management.
