很多钱，只能想到“a lot of money”吗？

今天我们来聊聊其他关于钱的表达。

affluent/well-off

She is from an affluent/well-off family.

wealthy

I heard that she has a wealthy uncle.

How did you make the money?

房子不错啊！你们肯定富得流油啊。哪儿弄来的钱？

loaded的意思是，富得流油。

一种非正式的用法。

还有一个词filthy rich，

也是富得流油：

They're filthy rich. 

这些人都太特么有钱了。

近几年又兴起了一个说法：

the one percent 财富塔顶端的那1%

It's easy to get by in society 

when you're part of the one percent. 

赚很多钱怎么说？

“make a lot of money”？

学几个其他说法吧！

make a mint/fortune 赚大钱

She made a mint on the stock exchange last year.

 line one's pockets

（尤其指通过占便宜或欺诈而）中饱私囊，发财

- staff at the bank have apparently been lining their  pockets with money from investors' accounts.

- This new contract is going to line our pockets for 

years.

最后，大家知道那句著名的“有钱能使鬼推磨”，在英语里要怎么表达吗？非常简单！“Money talks!”

A: I don’t know how he got into that university. He’s not that excellent.

B: Didn’t you know？ His dad’s a millionaire. He paid for the new library. Money talks.
