Having trouble finding a taxi? Running late for work? Previously we listed "how to use the didi app" as one of the tips we shared in our very popular article-- This Is Everything. The Ultimate Guide for 2017, and today we would like to add one more trick for using didi like a pro--message the driver!
For those regular didi users, please go straight to Step 5.
Step 1. (If you haven't) Download 滴滴出行 (didi chu xing) from your app store, or long press qr code below to download.
Step 2. Make an account
Step 3. Set up a payment method
(Need help setting up your WeChat wallet? See our previous guide here )
Step 4. Find a driver
To check out our previous didi guide, please long press the qr code below, extract or scan qr code.
Step 5. When you are matched with a driver, to avoid talking on the phone, you can send him messages inside the app.
It will get you to this page, the messaging page.
There are some standard sentences that are pre-set in the app. For the driver side, you may receive--
"您好, 我马上就过来, 请稍候" Hello, I will be right there, please wait for a bit.
"您好, 定位准吗? 我会按照导航过来" Hello, is your pin location correct? I'll follow the GPS.
"您好, 我已到达您的上车位置" Hello, I have arrived at the location you pinned.
You can also tap "Add more sentences" to customize your pre-set sentences.
For example:
(Hi, I am a foreigner and don’t speak Chinese, if you can’t find me, please text me here so I can translate them.)
(Hi, I will be waiting in front of xx.)
