Zimbabwe is a country in southern Africa, its capital city is Harare. It is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west and southwest, Zambia to the north and Mozambique to on the northeast and east.津巴布韦是非洲南部的国家，它的首都是哈拉雷。南接南非，西与西南跟博茨瓦纳交界，北接赞比亚，东和东南接莫桑比克。English, Shona, and Ndebele are the most commonly used official languages, but Zimbabwe has 16 official languages. The name "Zimbabwe" comes from a Shona name for "The Great Zimbabwe", which is an ancient ruins, meaning "Large houses of Stone".英语，绍纳语和恩德贝莱语是最主要的官方语言，津巴布韦一共有16个官方语言。它的国家的名字来自于绍纳语的名次“大津巴布韦”，大津巴布韦是古城，名字的意思是“石头做的大房子”The Great Zimbabwe 大津巴布韦The Kingdom of Mapungubwe enjoyed greater success developing sophisticated trade states while trading with Merchants through Indian Ocean Coast around 11th century. They traded gold, ivory, and copper for cloth and glass.Following was the Kingdom of Zimbabwe which flourished during the 13th to 15th centuries, as evidenced by ancient ruins such as the Great Zimbabwe and other smaller sites. Mutapa Empire which has other names such as "Kingdom of Mutapa", "Mwene Mutapa" etc flourished from 15th to 18th centuries, during this time, the Portuguese operating on the coast of Africa wanted more control of over the interior of Africa. This resulted in wars and Rozwi Empire emerged. Rozwi means "Destroyers", and as their name suggests, they succeded to expell the Portuguese from the Zimbabwean plateau by force of arms. In the 19th century, Cecil Rhodes's British South Africa Company with the help of British Government, seized control of the Kingdoms and Named the country "Rhodesia", subsiquently changing the name to "Southern Rhodesia".
The Zimbabwean white minority led by Ian Smith, issued a Unilateral Declaration of Independence from the United Kingdom on November 11, 1965. Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe African National Union(ZANU) and Joshua Nkomo's Zimbabwe African People's Union(ZAPU) not satisfied with white minority rule, started military campaigns to take power. In 1978, Ian Smith reached an accord with other African leaders, On 1 June 1979, Muzorewa became the prime minister and changed the country's name to Zimbabwe Rhodesia. On 12 December 1979, Britain took control of Zimbabwe Rhodesia as the Colony of Southern Rhodesia. On February 1980, Robert Mugabe and the ZANU party won an election and Britain formally granted independence to Zimbabwe in April 1980, the president at the time was Canaan Banana.  Former President Robert Mugabe 前总统穆加贝

After completing his education at University of Fort Hare, he worked as a school teacher in several countries. He was imprisoned for 10 years after making anti-government comments, he fled to Mozambique upon his release establishing his leadership of ZANU fighting against the white predominantly government of Ian Smith. He has been praised as a revolutionary hero of the African liberation struggle who helped to free Zimbabwe from British colonialism, imperialism and white minority rule.
