黄永刚, 沈向洋, 张东晓等多位华人学者当选美国工程院院士

知社学术圈华盛顿特区快讯,美东时间2月8日,美国国家工程院公布2017度新科院士名单,84名院士、22名外籍院士当选,其中有多位著名华人学者,包括黄永刚、沈向洋、张东晓等人。

西北大学黄永刚教授因在可伸展电子器件力学及机械引导三维自组装方面的先驱工作当选。黄永刚教授毕业于北京大学,出生于力学世家,是清华大学教授黄克智院士的公子,父子二人均为国际固体力学领域的领袖人物。黄教授也是继锁志刚、高华健之后近年第三位当选美国工程院院士的华人固体力学家。

沈向洋博士是微软全球执行副总裁,主管微软技术与研发部门,因在计算机视觉与图形学的突出贡献、以及在业界的研发领导力而当选。沈向洋是南京人,本科毕业于东南大学。值得一提的是,沈向洋当选的是美国工程院外籍院士。

张东晓教授现任北京大学工学院院长,因在多孔介质流体随机模拟的先驱工作而当选。张东晓教授本科毕业于东北大学,曾在美国南加州大学和奥克拉荷马大学任职,入选中组部千人计划,协助陈十一教授创办北京大学工学院。

今日当选的华人学者,还有伯克利的Tsu-Jae King Liu教授、UCLA的Jingsheng Cong教授,两人均担任校级行政职务,而且Cong教授也毕业于北京大学。另外,还有RPI的周祖康教授\通用电气副总裁Xiangli Chen,  和太平洋西北国家实验室Lai-yung Ruby Leung。
