The Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Sociophonetics. This is a fixed term position for one year, commencing 1^st October 2022, with duties covering teaching, service and scholarship.

You will have a PhD (or award within 12 months) and relevant teaching experience in sociolinguistics, phonetics and phonological theory. You will teach on our Lancaster-based UG and MA programmes in Linguistics and English Language and you will also contribute to a distance MA programme. You will also take on administrative duties as requested by the Head of Department. You will be an engaging teacher who is knowledgeable about their subject and who likes to help students develop their learning and expertise. 

Whilst not essential, preference will be given to candidates who can teach on our English Language degree programme, yet also can make a contribution to a non-English language area of linguistics, and can help us further our EDI agenda.
