41届新民主党内阁中，已有七名成员宣布不再寻求连任，包括省运输厅长徐蕴娜，就业厅长穆明雪等。

省自由党党领Andrew Wilkinson韦勤信于10月22日公布19名参与角逐10月省选的省自由党候选人名单。

• Long-time newspaper publisher and financial services professional Lorne Doerkson (Cariboo-Chilcotin)

• Local small business owner and energy sector professional Trevor Halford (Surrey-White Rock)

• Professional engineer and Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society board member Dave Hans (Surrey-Guildford)

• Local government public servant and dedicated community advocate Tanya Kaul (Cowichan Valley)

• Long-time local non-profit organization operations director and agricultural small business owner Margaret Kunst (Langley East)

• Seasoned entrepreneur and CEO of an early childhood learning centre Alex Read (Vancouver-Hastings)

• Gitxsan Hereditary Chief and lawyer Gordon Sebastian (Stikine)

• RCMP staff sergeant and youth mentor Jet Sunner (Delta North)

• Surrey school board trustee and realtor Garry Thind (Surrey-Fleetwood)

• Oliver councillor, entrepreneur, and chamber of commerce presdident Petra Veintimilla (Boundary-Similkameen)

当中包括前温市议员George Affleck及现任列治文市议员卢仙泳，Alexa Loo 将代替不再参选的列治文南选区（Richmond South Centre ）Linda Reid。据悉，将和她PK的NDP的候选人也是名华裔。

韦勤信表示，全部候选人名单将在本星期内公布。又批评省新民主党分化省民，不兑现对省民承诺。

9月22日晚7点，韦勤信和Richmond-Queensborough的周豪杰Jas Johal 及卢仙泳在Facebook上进行了直播动员

刚完成了党领竞选的绿党还没开始宣布候选人，但现任MLA的新党魁索尼亚·富斯泰瑙（Sonia Furstenau）和亚当·奥尔森（Adam Olsen）已承诺再次竞选。

BC省省选候选人登记的截止日期是10月2日。10月16日星期五至10月21日星期三进行预先投票, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.；42届省选将于10月24日正式投票
