“Yong Zhe‘s use of the fundamentals of grammar (TCP) is excellent. His disciplined use of tense is perfect as is his punctuation and use of capital letters. The essay is laid out perfectly in a series of paragraphs which makes it easy to read and follow the story.
The essay is brought to life by very good use of adjectives and adverbs which enrich his description of what makes him comfortable. ‘Every autumn, hundreds of apples fall like pouring rain’., and ‘Chunky, lives happily in my salted water fish tank rather than being eaten by horrible humans’.

The place I feel comfortable is my home. It is a big place because I just moved into a 4-bedroom mansion last month. It has all the mod cons you’d find in a big house. It has a big garden and my dad uses it to plant fruits and vegetables. There is a big old apple tree in the corner of the garden. Every autumn, hundreds of apples fall like pouring rain. The apples are very sweet. We wouldn’t be able to eat and munch all the apples so we would always make apple pies, apple jams, and also apple juice. My house is very nicely decorated with a world map in my bedroom, posters in the other room, a globe in my dad’s room, and a fish tank in the living room.
My favourite day of the week is Friday. The majority of the reasons are related to school. On Fridays, we don’t do much in class other than learn for a while and play for the rest of the classes. After all of that, which is after school at around 12:45 pm, me and my friends go to the PE hall for our extra-curricular activity; football. It is not a proper soccer team, just a place to play football with our friends without all that harsh training.
Back home my mom makes my favourite food; pasta. It contains rich tomato sauce with lots of vegetables in it. Besides this, I also like buffets and fast food. My dad makes burgers and fries when he is in a good mood. Pity life is too short to count all the calories I had taken in my lifetime!
I like to listen to the radio when I have a chance. I love the sound of my Labrador; toast, make. He can be annoying sometimes because he barks and ruffs at night but I still love him. I bring him to the local park for a walk every day for 365 days a year. I have a pet lobster as well. It became my pet when I wanted a fish but I came across a place where it sells lobsters for food. I think the lobsters are very sad because their life is about to end so I bought one for €25. Now the lobster; Chunky, lives happily in my salted water fish tank rather than being eaten by horrible humans.
After a long day, I like to sit on my comfortable big bed and read a book from the local library. Or just watch an interesting movie, preferably comedy, to end the day.
This is where I feel comfortable and it will always be.
