学生日记 Market diaries丨“跟着剑桥硕士逛菜场”第5季

One
Like the previous day, I banged open the door of the class room of the “vegetable market” club. Six pairs of eyes stared right at me. Under the spot light, I jogged to my seat. I pulled out my note book and took a sip of water. Then the door screeched and Steve came in with his friend. I waved them over to sign in and remembered that I didn’t tick under my name either. I took a pen and ticked my name off the list. After all the people have arrived and caused some drama, we all took a seat and sat down, about ready to start today. That is when every thing went wrong.
First, the teacher came over and gave us a quick review. Then we moved on to the new vocabulary list which was annoying. We watched a short video and the teacher showed a PPT of her house and had quite a smile on her face. “well kids” she said in an excited voice. “Do you know where this is?” we gave her grumpy faces and some nods, someone even screeched a little. After a great deal of effort, the teacher finally continued with the presentation. Then she showed us some more pictures of her house, and taught us about her aquaponic system, which grows plants using the poop of fish that live in the same tank as the plant. She had a nice solar panel in her little garden. We also saw a picture of some kids in her garden touring around. My first thought was, “when did these kids sneak into her house?” “Was this a camera re play or something?” Then she told us that the government allowed her to open a tiny museum around her house and may have these wonder full expensive solar panels and fish tanks with a lot of plants. Then we started joking about why the teacher bought all these stuff and did not buy a tesla car. We laughed and joked about while we lined up with our note pads, and headed for the cafeteria.
Two
We interviewed the workers and some people at the cafeteria. After lunch, we went to the library, and found books to read while we rested. When I finished the book, I spent half an hour tidying up the library books with my friends. And then we went back to the room, packed our bags and went to the market to do some more interviewing. After what happened, we took out our bags and bought whatever we wanted. I bought some carrots, some potatoes and some mushrooms. After that we went to the other market, more of a large supermarket. We did some interviews and asked them if they are impressed how their compound did the garbage classification. We got some who agree, some who disagree and some rude people who passed by like we didn’t exist. After that we went back to our class room, watched another short film, and packed up our bags and class ended. We waited for our parents to pick us up. After the teacher saw my driver and allowed me to go, I said ‘bye’ to the teacher and left.
