▌美国高校招生丑闻



3月中旬,美国爆出史上最大规模高校招生丑闻。为了让自己的孩子进入有竞争力的美国名校,一些财力雄厚的家长不惜通过行贿“购买”耶鲁、斯坦福以及其他名校新生入学资格。该事件于2019年3月12日由美国联邦检察官披露,至少有50人参与其中。

▌650万美元“买”进斯坦福



近日,刷新行贿金额最高纪录的家庭被曝出,步长制药董事长赵涛被指豪掷650万美金(约4400万人民币)将女儿“买”进斯坦福。当事人母亲回应,自己受到误导,650万美金系捐款。

to make someone think and behave exactly as you want them to, by skilfully deceiving or influencing them
