【内容简介】

 

安乐哲《经典儒学核心概念》是一部以崭新宏大的文化视野,采用中西比较哲学阐释法,面向全球推出的经典儒家哲学核心概念术语工具书。辞典涵盖经典儒学关键哲学术语近百个,将其置于中国原有的文化阐释域境中,还原出它们本来的真实内涵,这无论是对世界了解儒学,还是对中国对外讲述儒学,都将是一部前所未有、发蒙起蔽的跨文化阐释哲学术语工具书。

 

本书从中西哲学比较的角度出发,收录了92个儒学关键术语,每一词条先给出英文对应词,再以《说文解字》等为依据训诂,最后结合儒学经典用英文进行阐释。本书的宗旨在于纠正西方对中国文化的误读。

 

作者认为:中西思想传统各有自己一套独特的哲学语汇,这套哲学语汇在各自文化语义环境中自圆其说而不可直接相互翻译,由于双方对彼此原本语义结构性差别的忽略,在以往中西哲学直接相互翻译过程中,存在着大量的文化不对称误读、误判;例如将儒学“天”误读为西方基督教的“Heaven”(“天堂”)一词、将“礼”作为基督教的“ritual”(“宗教礼仪”)等。因此,仅靠词对词的翻译,难以达到有效的沟通。

 

要使西方人恰当地理解中国儒学,就必须顾及中西思想传统各自文化语义环境的不同结构,采取比照彼此语义文化环境的阐释方法,“使翻译与阐释相结合,以阐释为主,翻译为辅”。用这一方法,将不同思想传统的重要哲学语汇、概念框架,放到各自文化语义环境中去进行二者差别的比照阐释,用各自非哲学性的自然语言阐释彼此的一套特有哲学语汇;以此较为恰当地表达中国儒学和中国思想文化,进而完成从中国向西方传达思想的工作。

 

【作者简介】

 

 

安乐哲,1947年出生于加拿大多伦多,世界著名中西比较哲学家,国际知名汉学大师,孔子研究院特聘专家,山东省“儒学大家”。曾任夏威夷大学哲学系教授,现任北京大学哲学系人文讲席教授,世界儒学文化研究联合会会长,国际儒学联合会副会长,尼山圣源书院顾问,北京中外文化交流研究基地首席专家。


2013年因其对中国思想多年来的出色研究获得“孔子文化奖”。2016年,荣获第二届“会林文化奖”。2018年荣获“文明之光·2018中国文化交流年度人物”;并荣获“北京大学燕园友谊奖”;2019年荣获“杜威学术学会2019终身成就奖”;2021年荣获“中国政府友谊奖”。


安乐哲教授翻译了《论语》《大学》《中庸》《道德经》《孝经》《淮南子》《孙子兵法》等书而蜚声海内外,著有:《先贤的民主:杜威、孔子与中国民主之希望》《通过汉代而思》《主术:中国古代政冶制度之研究》《通过孔子而思》等。
