国家发展改革委12月18日消息，2020年春运将从1月10日开始，2月18日结束，共计40天。经会商研判，2020年春运全国旅客发送量将达到约30亿人次，比上年略增。
The upcoming 40-day Spring Festival travel rush is going to kick off on Jan 10 and end on Feb 18. The number of road trips is projected to reach some 2.43 billion, a 1.2 percent drop from last year, while train trips are likely to top 440 million during the period, up 8 percent year-on-year, according to the commission.
国家发改委称，即将到来的40天春运潮将于1月10日开始，于2月18日结束。道路旅客发送量预计将达约24.3亿人次，同比下降1.2％，铁路4.4亿人次，同比增长8％。
Air travel will likely see some 79 million trips, surging 8.4 percent, while boat trips are predicted to hit 45 million, which will see a 9.6 percent year-on-year increase, it said.
报告还称，民航可能会达到约7900万人次，增长8.4％；水运4500万人次，增长9.6%。

The Spring Festival travel rush appeared in the 1980s after rural laborers flocked into cities to find jobs amid China's urbanization development. They could afford time and money to go back home once a year for the Spring Festival family reunion.
鼠年春节是2020年1月25日。根据铁路部门，12月19日，铁路春运售票进入第八日开始发售2020年1月17日（腊月廿三）车票。
Train tickets for the first day of the Spring Festival travel rush went on sale on Dec 12. Tickets can be purchased online or by phone 30 days in advance of travel, or at railway stations, ticket agencies and self-ticketing machines 28 days ahead of time, according to the national railway operator.
2020年春运火车票已于12月12日开售。据铁路部门，铁路春运火车票互联网和电话订票提前30天发售，代售点提前28天发售。

近年来，“反向春运”成为一种趋势。据中国铁路总公司称，越来越多的年轻人选择将老家的父母和孩子接来自己工作的城市过春节，也被称为“反向团圆”。
Reverse Spring Rush, where parents travel to cities where their children are working in for a family reunion rather than have their kids come to the hometown, has become a trend. People involved in reverse Spring Rush grew 9 percent year-on-year in 2019, according to China Railway Corp.
反向春运已成为一种趋势，父母前往子女工作的城市团圆，而不再让子女回乡。根据中国铁路总公司的数据，2019年铁路反向春运客流增加了9%左右。
