Not Qualified for Permanent Residence? 

You may be able to apply through preferential policies.

Foreigners with permanent residency can enter and leave China without nationality restrictions and do not need to apply for additional visas. 

Their spouse and children (under 18 years old) can also apply along with them.

The article we published last week described the general requirements for applying for permanent residence in China. But if you do not meet the requirements, don't be discouraged! 

You can also apply through preferential policies in which cases income or working years are not required!

Common Application Conditions

• Worked in Shanghai for 4 years + annual salary of 600,000 RMB(before tax) + annual tax payment of 120,000 RMB.

• Doctorate degree + held Chinese nationality before.

• Chinese spouse holds a registered local residence + married for at least 5 years.

If your income or working years do not meet the above requirements, don't be discouraged! 

If you meet the following conditions, we can also apply for you through preferential policies.

Conditions which you can apply via

preferential policies

No requirements for income and tax: 

Foreigners who once held Chinese nationality and have worked in the free trade zones in Shanghai for 4 consecutive years can mostly apply directly. (Contact us to check whether your company belongs to an eligible free trade zone)

No requirement for working years (non-criminal record NOT required):

A-type work visa holders (position level fits deputy general manager or academic leader or above) who are working in high-tech enterprises in the free trade zone, can mostly apply directly.
