作品：The Formaldehyde Trip (Excerpts) 2017，6’09

The work is a mixture ofMesoamerican cosmologies and decolonial perspectives; crafty and ornate propsand settings dedicated to the murdered Mixtec activist Alberta ‘Bety’ Cariño inher journey through the underworld where she encounters warriors, witches andthe dual-gendered goddess of death.”

艺术家：Mónica Dower

作品：Belly and shower，2004，5 ́

The women dance in front of an imaginary public and they play tobe odalisques. The territory that defines them is this public bath where theymove as if they were in their own house and act with naturalness. It is a game,a simulation, as it represents an illusory role for a public rather imaginaryor for themselves. This game is developed through an orchestration of looks inwhich they intervene, the mirrors, the eye of the camera and our looks.

During a nightmare some things you want to touch, some things youbetter don’t. Destruction makes me furious. 

 这位就是工作室画廊本期的驻地艺术家、策展人Elizabeth Ross，她来自墨西哥🇲🇽，这次OpenStudio她不仅为我们带来了一场有趣而珍贵的墨西哥当代女性艺术家的影像作品放映会，同时她也带来了一个持续了10年的摄影项目。

作为艺术家，Elizabeth Ross为我们呈现了她从2008年就开始的摄影项目《注视》系列，每到一个国家她都会邀请当地的朋友参与到这个系列的摄影作品中。

I'm looking for the hear soul light of humanity.

It seems to have been lost somewhere.

Do you remember?

Multiple gazes for you to look for it.

Many voices from distant lands to tell.

Images like to move. 

They can't stand still
