甘思德：论中美合作基础
新年伊始，中美经贸关系持续紧张，新一轮的"中国威胁论"、中国锐实力（sharp power）等美国对中国的批评意见透漏出中美关系的不稳定迹象，中美外交的整体形势变得更加严峻。中共中央政治局委员、中央财经领导小组办公室主任刘鹤2月27日起，开始为期五天的"灭火"访美之行。经济上互通有无是中美合作的基础，在尊重彼此核心利益的基础上，才能加强合作，塑造合作共赢的局面。作为一个资深的"中国通"，甘思德先生一直致力于对中国的经济、社会发展的研究，他如何理解目前的中美关系困局？中美合作的基础发生了什么样的改变？未来两国合作的趋势将如何发展？中美在全球治理中未来将扮演怎样的角色？敬请关注本期讲座分享。

甘思德教授长期致力于研究中国国内和国际经济政策，在包括产业政策、科技创新、企业参政议政、全球治理以及企业公益慈善等领域均有出色研究成果。著有:《全球治理与中国：龙的学习曲线》(Routledge,2017年),《虚胖的科技龙》(CSIS,2017年),《超越"中央王国":中国走向资本主义转型的比较视角》(斯坦福大学出版社,2011年)，《在中国游说的事业》(哈佛大学出版社,2005年),《中国相声：建交以来美国的对华政策辩论》(Rowman and Little field, 2003年)等。
Scott Kennedy: The Crumbling Foundations for US-China Cooperation
As a new year just starts，the Sino-U.S. collaboration of economics and trade becomes strained: a new series of criticisms from the United States, such as “China Threat” theory and Chinese sharp power, reflects the Sino-U.S. relationship becomes instable. The overall situation of Sino-U.S. Diplomacy becomes more serious. Liu He, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and the director of the Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs, visits to the United States for five days from February 27th, in order to get rid of the stress on the Sino-U.S. collaboration. Each making up what the other lacks is the foundation of the Sino-U.S. collaboration. Based on respecting the core benefits of each other, China and the United States can strengthen their collaboration and result in a win-win situation. As a “China expert”, Prof. Scott Kennedy devotes to the studies of China’s economic and social development. How will he evaluate the serious relationship between China and the United States? What is the change in the foundation of the Sino-U.S. collaboration? How will the future trend of collaboration between the two countries develop? What roles will China and the United States act in the future of global governance? Scott Kennedy, deputy director of the Freeman Chair in China Studies and director of the Project on Chinese Business and Political Economy at CSIS. A leading authority on China’s domestic and international economic policy, specific areas of focus include industrial policy, technology innovation, business lobbying, global governance, and philanthropy. He is the author of The Fat Tech Dragon: Benchmarking China’s Innovation Drive (CSIS, 2017), (with Chris Johnson) Perfecting China Inc.: China’s 13th Five-Year Plan (CSIS, 2016), and The Business of Lobbying in China (Harvard University Press, 2005).
