Chinese Lunar New Year | To Students Staying at CCNU

A letter to students staying at CCNU

Hello everyone!

Recently, the new coronavirus caused severe pneumonia in Wuhan. In order to cut off the route of infection, Wuhan city made a decision to temporarily stop public transport and close the external transport channels, and requested that the citizens should not leave Wuhan without special reasons. This is a heroic move of Wuhan since the attack of new coronavirus! Everyone is responsible for the prevention and control of the epidemic. In order to better respond to the epidemic situation, the Mental health education center puts forward the following suggestions:

1. Relieve anxiety and fear. Since this is a brand new virus, there is certain uncertainty to be infected, which will make many people feel that the virus is "everywhere" and difficult to prevent, resulting in panic and anxiety, which is understandable. But we should believe doctors, science, and the Communist Party of China and the government! Therefore, when we understand and accept our own fears and anxieties, we should also think rationally, and see hope and confidence from the protective measures, so as to ease the mood.

2. Learn to judge and filter information. From the outbreak to the spread of the epidemic, there are various kinds of information on the Internet. We should learn to judge and screen information sources. The first choice is the information about epidemic situation published by the official platform. Do not believe and disseminate unofficial gossip, untrue information, gossip and personal statements.

3. Avoid high frequency use of the Internet . With the development of new media, it is easy for us to get all kinds of information from mobile phones at any time. The bombardment of information is endless, which makes us always worry about missing information and generating information anxiety, which is not good for our emotional health. Learn to "relax" and check the mobile phone information regularly every day instead of "swipe" every minute and second.

4. Moderate distraction. Staying in the school, you can chase after plays, listen to songs, read books, run, etc.; you can also use the holidays to make new year's plan, and make good efforts for the development of study and work in 2020.

5. Keep in touch with your family. During the Spring Festival, we should care about our family, which can also relieve our anxiety of staying in the Wuhan. If possible, try to make a voice or video call with your family! Just talk about your life and food arrangement on campus to reduce your family's worries!

6. Keep a regular diet. The law of life is the foundation of our health. Normal work and rest is the protection of the body and the basis for us to deal with the current difficulties. So we should eat and sleep regularly.

7. Understand and support the front-line medical staff. If they are your family, ask them to protect themselves when they are fighting or about to fight. If you go to see a doctor, please be more patient to them. Please also express your support and thanks to the service personnel, sanitation workers and policemen.

Only by adjusting mentality and facing bravely, we can resist the virus better and protect ourselves and our beloved family!

Let's unite, unite and overcome the difficulties together!

We wish you good health and a happy New Year!

Dear brothers and sisters,

Please feel that CCNU is our family--a kind and big family.

CCNU loves to provide you all some useful advice for this hard time and we positively believe that this hard time will over very soon.

Don't you think so, brothers and sisters?

What we should do now is to put our room as much as hygiene as possible, clean everything in the room like desk, chair, mirror, floor, toilet with disinfectant liquid. It sounds a piece of cake, doesn't it?

Turn on the air-conditioning and keep ourselves warm as well this winter. But also do not forget to open the window occasionally for ventilation.

Unluckily, our beautiful Wuhan isn't pouring the white snow for us to have fun like last year. But, you don't have to worry about that our beautiful Wuhan will come back with a big smile, strength, more confidence and pride, and unity among hundreds of nationalities.️

My beloved brothers and sisters, panic won't work during this hard time, but positive thoughts, big smile in the morning, the sweat you make from doing exercise are going to work well.

We believe in unity. We believe in well cooperation and understanding .We believe in Wuhan authorities. We believe in prompt response from our authorities, medical experts, well cooperation from all parties from the mainland and around the globe.

It is time for us to work together, fight together, help one another as we are siblings, and countrymates.

Only CCNU won't make this happens, but we all together can really make this happen. We are one.

LET'S FIGHT TOGETHER !!!
