On November 3rd, the 2020 National Science and Technology Awards Ceremony was held in Beijing. The project in the theories of building thermal environment and the key techniques of constructing green buildings won the National Award for Science and Technology Progress. Yang Xu,  a professor from School of Life Sciences of CCNU, is one of the main directors of this project.

The project addresses bottleneck problems and challenges in the development of building thermal environment construction technology such as lack of self-system theory and technology, and high energy consumption of constructing buildings. In this project, Professor Yang Xu and his team took full advantages of some useful and scientific experimental approaches such as molecular biology to provide evidence and support for the key parts by means of the theory of TRP channel proteins, which successfully plays a great role in the energy conservation and emission reduction of the buildings in China.
