Nigeria, also known as the "Giant of Africa", is a country in Western Africa. It borders Chad and Cameroon to the east, Niger to the north, Benin to the west and Atlantic Ocean to the south. The capital city of Nigeria is Abuja, Lagos is its largest city, its official language is English, The currency used in Nigeria is Naira.

Benin City 贝宁城
One of the oldest city in Nigeria as evidenced by it's amount of ancient artifacts found there. The old Benin City was so advanced that when the portuguese found it they called it "The Great City of Benin", they also classified Benin as one of the beautiful and best planned city in the world.
The city was eventually destroyed by the British.

To describe an ancient Benin City, the Portuguese wrote that "it is bigger than Lisbon, streets run as far as the eye can see. At night there are street lamps, the houses are huge and richly decorated, especially that of the King. The city is industrious and wealthy. It is well governed and safe that people don't know about the theft, they actually don't need locks on their doors."
And this is what professor of English at the University of Virginia wrote about London during that same era: A city of “thievery, prostitution, murder, bribery and a thriving black market made the medieval city ripe for exploitation by those with a skill for the quick blade or picking a pocket”.

The Walls of Benin, though mostly destroyed but they are one of the wonders of the world and holds a record as the longest man made structure in the world.

Music 音乐
During the early 20th century, African musicians started to incorporate some elements of popular music and sometimes singing the covers of the popular songs at the time. Through years of experimentation and combining the new form of music a new music genre came to life, and that is Afrobeat.

Now, Afrobeat is already a huge industry with billions of dollars of revenue and influencing music all over the world. The big hit by Drake "One Dance" was largely contributed by a Nigerian superstar Wizkid, who have already broken many records in the music industry himself. The song combines elements of dancehall and afrobeat.

Genevieve Nnaji is a Nigerian actress, producer and director. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, making her the first actress to win the award. In 2011, she was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic by the Nigerian government for her contribution to Nollywood.
On September 7, 2018 her directorial debut "Lion heart" was acquired by online streaming service Netflix marking it the first Netflix original film from Nigeria. Genevieve also confirmed the news via her social media handle after it's announcement by the company.
