General Knowledge  概况

Tanzania is a union of two states, Tanganyika (mainland) and Zanzibar archipelago, that unified on April 26th, 1964, thus April 26th is a public holiday in Tanzania. Tanzania celebrates its independence day on December 9.

坦桑尼亚是坦噶尼喀（大陆）和桑给巴尔群岛两个国家于1964年4月26日统一的联合国，因此4月26日是坦桑尼亚的公共假日。坦桑尼亚于12月9日庆祝独立日。

National Anthem 国歌

The national anthem of Tanzania is "Mungu Ibariki Africa" which means "God bless Africa" and its motto is "Uhuru na Umoja," meaning "Freedom and unity".

坦桑尼亚国歌是“Mungu Ibariki Africa”，意思是“上帝保佑非洲”，其国家的格言是“Uhuru na Umoja”，意思是“自由和团结”。

Geographical Location 地理位置 

Tanzania is in Eastern Africa within the African Great Lakes region. It borders Kenya and Uganda to the north, Rwanda, Burundi and Congo DRC to the west, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique to the south, and the Indian Ocean to the east. The capital city of Tanzania is Dodoma, the official languages of Tanzania are Swahili and English. 

坦桑尼亚位于非洲东部大湖地区。北接肯尼亚和乌干达， 西邻卢旺达，刚果金和布隆迪，南连赞比亚，马拉维和莫桑比克，东临印度洋。坦桑尼亚的首都是多多马，国家的官方语言是斯瓦希里语和英语。

Tanzanian Shilling 坦桑先令

The currency used in Tanzania is Tanzanian Shilling(Tsh or TZS). 

在坦桑尼亚使用的货币是坦桑先令。

The President of Tanzania is John Magufuli, he is also known as "The Bulldozer" because after sweeping to victory in October 2015, he has embarked on a remorseless purge of corruption. 

坦桑尼亚总统是约翰·马古弗利，他也被称为“推土机”，因为他2015年10月大获全胜后，他就开始了对腐败的无情清除。

Dar Es Salaam 达累斯萨拉姆

The largest city of Tanzania is Dar es Salaam, it is also the former capital and it is the country's commercial center. Below are some images from the capital.

Arusha 阿鲁沙

Located in northern Tanzania, Arusha is a multicultured region with people from all over the world. It is also the headquarters of the East African Community. The city receives a great deal of tourist footfall, and it is nearby to many natural areas, including the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Mount Kilimanjaro, and Arusha National Park, among others.

Zanzibar  桑给巴尔

Zanzibar is also known as "The Island of Spices", it is a semi-autonomous archipelago off the coast of Tanzania consisting of Zanzibar Island (locally, Unguja), Pemba Island and many smaller islands. It is rich in history and culture, with a lot of historically important buildings. The beach in Zanzibar are also spectacular. Zanzibar used to be Oman's capital city in around 1840s.

桑给巴尔岛也被称为“香料岛”，它是坦桑尼亚海岸外的一个自治群岛，由桑给巴尔岛（当地为昂古贾岛）、彭巴岛和许多较小的岛屿组成。它有着丰富的历史和文化，还有许多具有重要历史意义的建筑。桑给巴尔的海滩是非常美丽。该岛在19世纪40年代左右曾是阿曼的首都。

Mwanza

Mwanza is located on the southern shores of Lake Victoria, it is also called “Rock City”, "Stone City" or "City among rocks" as you can see for yourself from the images. The city is located in the northern part of Tanzania, on the shores of Lake Victoria and is surrounded by vast, rocky hills. Being on the shores of a lake, fishing is a major industry in the city, with five different fish processing plants located here. 

姆万扎位于维多利亚湖南岸，也被称为“岩石之城”、“石头之城”或“岩石中的城市”，为什么这样描述这个城市呢？你自己看图片就知道了。这座城市位置在坦桑尼亚北部，维多利亚湖畔，周围是巨大的岩石丘陵。因为它在湖边，渔业是城市的主要产业，这里有五个不同的鱼类加工厂。

Dodoma is the national capital of Tanzania. It is located in the heart of Tanzania and its central location is the major reason that it was chosen to be the capital. National Assembly is hosted here, but other administrative offices and state house are still in Dar es Salaam.

多多马是坦桑尼亚的首都。因为它位于坦桑尼亚的正中心所以它就被选为首都。国民大会每年都在这里举行，但其他行政办公室和州议会仍在达累斯萨拉姆。

Mbeya is located in the southwestern part of Tanzania, once a center of the gold rush in 1905 and a gold mining town in the 1920s, it has grown to be the business center for the southern part of Tanzania. Tourists also love this city, here there is one of the largest meteorite(Mbozi meteorite),  Kitulo National Park, Ruaha National Park, Mwalalo Water Falls, Mount Rungwe, etc. A completely new species of large monkey, the Kipunji, was discovered here.

Serengeti is one of the 7 natural wonders of Africa, one of the ten natural travel wonders of the world. It hosts the largest lion population in the world and it also hosts the largest mammal migration in the world. Every year, almost 1.5 million Wildebeest and more than 200,000 Zebras engage in a 2000 kms migration to find the green pastures.

塞伦盖蒂是非洲七大自然奇观之一，世界十大自然旅游奇观之一。它拥有世界上最大的狮子种群，也是世界上最大的哺乳动物迁徙地。每年，将近150万只角马和20多万只斑马进行2000公里的迁徙，寻找新鲜的草场和水资源。

Ngorongoro is the Unesco world heritage, it is also considered the 8th wonder of the world, it is a volcanic caldera that hosts a great impressive ecosystem ideal for the survival and preservation of a large diversity of animals, ranging from the lions to the uncommon horned large rhinos, the crater is 600m deep and the crater floor is 20km in diameter.

恩戈罗恩戈罗是联合国教科文组织的世界遗产地，它也被认为是世界第八大奇迹，它是一个火山喷口，拥有完美的生态系统，非常适合多种动物的生存和保护，包括狮子和罕见的大犀牛，其坑深600米，坑底直径20公里。

Mountain Kilimanjaro is the Highest mountain in Africa. It is often reffered to as "The roof of Africa."

Lake Tanganyika is the world's longest freshwater lake, second deepest lake and second largest by volume.

Cash crops in Tanzania include  coffee, tea, Cotton, Cashew nut, Sisal, Cloves and many other spices.

Tanzania is also rich in minerals, such as gold, Diamond and many other gems, the one that stands out is Tanzanite, this sparkling mineral can only be found in Tanzania, it is 1000 times rare than diamond. It is found at the food of mountain Kilimanjaro.
