The Russian state-owned news agency, Sputnik, has revealed that a chartered plane will transport the first batch of 150 Russian students from Moscow to Shenzhen at the end of April.
A sophomore at Beijing Foreign Studies University told the media outlet that students will first quarantine at the Greenwood hotel in Moscow for seven day before departure, and then quarantine for another 14 days in a hotel in Shenzhen upon arrival.
The students will complete three nucleic acid tests during quarantine in Russia and no less than 5 in China, one at the airport on arrival, three at the isolation hotel and others when quarantining as requested by schools. The students noted that quarantine requirements for schools are different depending on campus.
A female sophomore at BFSU University, said she understands the strict measures by China, "I still remember when the epidemic in Kaliningrad reached its peak. Everything was sealed because almost everyone was ill and there were not even enough coffins to bury the dead."
Ticket Costs About 17,693 RMB
Students told the news outlet that the return will cost each about 350,000 rubles (about 30,798 yuan or us$4,700), this includes a 206,000 rubles (about 17,693 yuan or us$ 2700) for a ticket.
They expressed that the total cost is expensive but they still are willing to shoulder the costs for their return to continue offline studies. There are still more students awaiting their return to China and they could easily fill another charter flight.
One of the female students said: "[After I return] I expect to stay in China until the pandemic is over. All Russian students who will fly to China have the same plan, because if they return to Russia from China, it is almost impossible to return."
