As China eases limitations on inbound travel, an official from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) stated on Tuesday that China will improve contact with nations to expand international flights during the second half of this year.

According to CAAC representative Xu Qing, the action takes into account the desire for international personnel exchanges, such as foreign students returning to China.

China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines announced the restoration of international routes or an increase in flight frequency in recent days, among other local and foreign airlines.

One of the first regular routes for the airline in Beijing to start operations is the route from Beijing to Belgrade, which will be followed by a route from Beijing to Moscow on July 12 by Hainan Airlines.

As of July 19, Tianjin Airlines will also restart service between Tianjin and Osaka, Japan. This would be the first foreign flight the company's international division has resumed since the outbreak of the virus.

Beginning on July 11, All Nippon Airways of Japan resumed service between Beijing and Tokyo. The airline's first trip to Beijing in more than two years is now scheduled. On Mondays, the flight is expected to take off.

From July 22, Air France will once again offer a weekly service between Paris and Beijing.

According to industry intelligence source VariFlight, China is expected to receive 2,025 inbound passenger flights from July 4 through the end of this month, a 24 percent increase over the same period in 2021.

In order to accommodate the demands of personnel exchanges, the CAAC stated last month that it has been talking with various nations to progressively and steadily enhance frequent international passenger flights.

Additionally, the nation cut the collective quarantine period for new overseas arrivals in half, from 14 days to seven days, which gave the outbound travel sector a boost.

China has implemented one of the most significant changes since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic by decreasing the total amount of time that overseas passengers must spend in quarantine, and by announcing plans to simplify entry processes at its embassies and consulates in 125 nations. One of those modifications is the elimination of the 12-hour antigen test requirement.
