Universities Update Notices for Intl Students

As previously reported, a number of Chinese universities have recently begun to send emails to collect international students' willingness to return to the Chinese university.
We've noticed that some universities have updated notices about returning international students; the four universities listed below are just for your reference.
1. Shanghai University
Students who are about to enter China will need to spend seven days in supervised facilities for quarantine and fourteen days off of school for health monitoring. Please complete the International Student Entry Information Registration Form after the quarantine has begun. Students can select their preferred method of health monitoring. The daily rate for SISU Guest House is RMB 248 for students (breakfast included). Dinner and lunch would be additional and cost RMB 30 each.
During their health monitoring, students are obliged to keep track of their body temperature, and on the thirteenth day, they must do a nucleic acid test. By 16:00 on the day before returning, students must complete the Application Form for School Returning and email it to the designated email address.
Please take note that these registration procedures are just for SISU's international freshmen in the fall of 2022.
2. Wuhan University
By the quarantine regulations, international students may enter the university with a student visa.
To join the "Entry" WeChat group in email attachments according to your category, please prepare the WeChat app and verify that it functions normally and update the group name card to your student number.
After August 20th, post to the Wechat group with your arrival time, flight information, and destination city (day and precise time).
3. Ningbo University
1.You must receive a WHO-recognized COVID-19 vaccine or a vaccine approved by the Chinese government to be fully protected against the disease. All international applicants to Ningbo University are now also required by NBU to have a COVID-19 booster shot as soon as they are qualified before departing.
2. Obtain full medical insurance in China.
3. Following arrival in China at the designated entry port, the local government will demand adherence to quarantine regulations. an obligatory quarantine of 7+3 days if coming through Shanghai. 4 days in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, and 3 days in Shanghai.
4. Students will be transported to Ningbo's Jiangbei District via pre-arranged transportation after being released from quarantine. You will be subjected to a 3-day home observation period during which your health will be checked every day. You are not permitted to veer off the planned path while being transported to Ningbo.
5.Students are responsible for paying any costs associated with the aforementioned quarantine measures, except in situations where a positive PCR test for COVID-19 triggers the application of internal insurance terms and conditions. Quarantine in Shanghai, Jiaxing, and Ningbo is anticipated to cost RMB 500 per day, according to the actual agreements made by the regional CDC and hotels.
Note: At this time, we only let all freshmen enroll at Ningbo University in September 2022 due to the uncertainties surrounding the outbreak. All of you are expected to visit the campus for in-person instruction.
Those foreign students who are permitted to re-enroll at Chinese universities：
With the easing of anti-epidemic regulations, thousands of overseas students from more than 10 countries have lately been permitted to return to Chinese institutions, two years after the border was closed to them.
1. Sri Lanka
On June 25, 164 Sri Lankan medical students who had been stranded abroad due to the novel coronavirus pandemic since the beginning of 2020 arrived at Tianjin on a special chartered flight of Sri Lanka Airlines, following the arrival of 150 Russian students on a chartered flight from Moscow to Shenzhen on April 30, 2022. More foreign students will now be able to "return to their universities in China as soon as possible," the Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka tweeted.
2. Pakistan
According to Pakistan's The Express Tribune newspaper, a specially chartered airplane brought the first group of 105 Pakistani students to Xi'an on June 20, 2022, where they will undergo quarantine before returning to Chinese institutions in various cities.
3. Thailand
A representative for the Thai foreign ministry stated a few days ago that following the signing of an agreement in February 2022, Beijing has started to accept applications for admittance from Thai students. Only South Korea, with 50,600, has more foreign students in China than Thailand, with 28,608.
There are several signs that China has sped up the process of allowing overseas students who were trapped abroad due to the outbreak to return to local universities. In April 2022, China started allowing international students to return with restrictions. This plan will reach its zenith before the start of the semester in September.
