News Updates on Students’ Return to China(weakly)

We’ve heard from a few additional students who say that their universities, including ZUST, HUST, and others, are asking them to return to China or are gathering their information and vaccination records. The universities are making direct and private interaction with the students.
It’s crucial to wait patiently and to check your school email. We have no control over when universities will open to different departments and groups of students.

In a joint statement, the Mongolian and Chinese governments said that they had “decided to… expand direct flights between the two countries to enhance personnel exchanges and encourage Mongolian students in returning to China to continue classes at an early date.”
On August 8, 2022 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg jointly met the press after their talks.
According to Wang Yi, Ulaanbaatar has undergone encouraging changes since he last visited Mongolia two years ago, and the vast grasslands have come to life. China, a friendly neighbouring nation, is quite pleased with Mongolia’s quick development and is looking forward to its growth and revival. Wang Yi summarised the major agreements that the two parties arrived at during the visit.

the Twitter account of Ji Rong of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a new policy is coming soon for all students to return to China.
·This policy has not been formally implemented yet. Students should not depend on this policy yet because it has not been formally announced.
·It is unknown what the exact contents of this policy will be. A timeline is also unknown.

Bangladesh and China announced Bangladeshi students are able to apply for visas and return to China.
Bangladeshi students should contact their university and embassy for more information.
As of July 26, 2022
Multiple news outlets reported on Premier Li Keqiang’s announcement that all students can return to China.
It could take months or years for all pupils to be affected by these policy changes.
China will need to expand the number of planes it offers, expand the number of student-only hotels it allows, and gradually let embassies process student X visas. These changes will take time.
