Comfort Food Delivered From Colca — Order Here!
Beloved Peruvian restaurant Colca is now delivering! Comfort food, piping hot, direct to your door. Details below.
I’ll
also preface this by saying that I love cooking, and I’ve done pretty
well for some of my home cooked meals.
But after eating Colca’s Seafood Rice…I remember why I love dining out so much. It was absolutely delicious.
It’s my favorite dish from the delivery menu—superb flavor, perfectly
seasoned with a nice creeping spice, loaded with a wide array of seafood
that I can’t/won’t be able to bulk buy.
Delivery
Comfort Food From Colca
Now, like most restaurants operating
delivery during this unusually challenging time, Colca’s menu is limited. This is a given, mainly due
to the lack of staff (who are also locked down) and inflation of goods
(logistics is stalled throughout the city).
That said, the portions are also sizeable and are made for sharing. Plus, the MOQ (minimum quantity order) isn’t high — you need to hit ¥400. They also have some wines and beer for delivery.
Without further ado, here’s what you can expect from the Colca delivery menu:
Colca Seafood Rice (¥200)
— A whopping 300 grams of rice and seafood. The rice is perfectly
cooked and uber tasty with a hint of spice. Laden with bits of squid and
octopus and topped with plump shrimp and mussels.
I die. So good.
Cheese & Jamon Baguette (¥250) — A three-cheese pack of Spanish goat, manchego, and Iberian cheese, a pack of Spanish jamon (50g), and a fresh (nicely salted) baguette.
Fish Curry (¥200) — Thick fillets of cod fish stewed in a red curry with seasonal vegetables and potatoes. It’s a mildly spicy curry that comes with a side of yellow rice.
The rice is tasty enough to eat on its own! And the curry is definitely sufficient for two to share with an additional helping of rice.
Chicken Stew (¥100) — The best value dish on the delivery menu. Chicken thighs stewed with carrots, tomato, and seasonal veg, seasoned with paprika. This weighs in at 500 grams with about 4-5 pieces of chicken thighs. All you have to do is steam your own rice.
The chicken stew also comes with a side of garlicky mash potatoes and cassava chips.
Lomo Saltado (¥200) — One of many iconic Peruvian dishes, stir-fried beef. Beef tenderloin stir-fried with red onions, peppers, and tomato in a soy-garlic sauce.
The Lomo Saltado also comes with a side of roasted potatoes.
Beef Lasagna (¥150) — Beef ragu, mozzarella, tomato sauce, béchamel, and basil purée. A great comfort food for sure. It is a treat, especially for those who don't have an oven to make it on their own.
New on the menu! Italian Meatballs Set (¥150) — 12 meatballs in tomato sauce with parmesan cheese, garlic bread, and dried (raw) tagliatelle pasta for you to cook at home for optimum al dente consistency.
