Iconic Rooftop Bar

FLAIR Rooftop Restaurant & Bar
The Highest Rooftop Bar in Shanghai

Located on the 58th floor of The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong, FLAIR is one of the highest rooftop bars in the world and the highest in Shanghai. The enthralling view of the Oriental Pearl Tower and the rare panorama of the Bund and meandering Huangpu River is iconic, and one of the venue’s biggest draws.

Taking up the entire floor, FLAIR is a spacious venue with two bars, dining and lounge seating, an amphitheater-like split-level terrace, and a private room. The dining room and bar glimmers with metal latticework framed against wood and stone foundations, and glow with warm earth tones and orange-blue hues of the sunset and skyline.

Every seat in the house has a line of sight to the view. It's a stylish, sleek destination to be proud of.

Take a moment to marvel at the terrace:

This will be the destination for champagne brunches, afternoon tea, business dealings, and romantic dinners, as well as a must-do for photo-ops for tourists and residents alike.

Plans for events and parties are underway. Expect variations on themed parties with headlining DJs and guest chefs and bartenders. The grand opening party is scheduled for mid-March.

On The Menu

Food & Cocktails

Food and drink FLAIR is Asian-inspired. The food menu, courtesy of Malaysian Chef Simone Yapp, borrows from the colorful cuisines of Asia, spanning influences from Singapore to India.

There are bar snacks, comforting dishes like Penang-style fried noodles, sushi and sashimi, skewers, steaks, and spice-rich seafood entrées.

Wagyu Samosas (¥128) – Delicious purses of minced wagyu beef, mushrooms, and chickpeas seasoned with roasted spices, served with a mint raita and chili sauce.

Chicken Satay (¥118) – A street-food favorite turned elegant bar snack. Juicy chicken thigh in curry spices, served with a toasted peanut sauce.

Tobiko French Fries (¥98) with eel sauce and chili mayonnaise.

Dragon Beans (¥88) - Stir-fried with homemade sambal. An addictive appetizer and side dish.

Penang Mee Goreng (¥138) – A heaving portion of fried noodles loaded with shrimp and clams, imbued with wokhei.

Beef Rendang (¥198) – Tender chunks of beef in an aromatic rendang served with turmeric spiced rice.

Char-Grilled Hariyali Chicken Tikka (¥168) - Juicy chicken thighs flavored with Indian spices, served with roti, spicy tomato sauce and raita.

Wagyu Beef Flank M5 (¥618/350g) – Steak served atop a pink salt block with roasted vegetables and mushrooms. Highly recommend pairing it with the fresh wasabi.

Miso Cod (¥298) – A classic dish of buttery, flaky fish served with crispy quinoa, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, and garlic mayonnaise.

Warm Chocolate Fondant (¥88) with raspberry coulis and meringue.

Sakura Mousse (¥168) with crystal jelly and mint sorbet.

As for the drinks, FLAIR has a dozen signature cocktails (from ¥138) in addition to classic cocktails, a wide selection of premium spirits from scotch to mezcal, as well as wines, champagne, and sakes.

Signature cocktails are also inspired by the Asian theme and incorporate fresh citrus, tropical fruits, Chinese spices, shochus, and teas. Heading up the drinks program is award-winning Bar Manager Ming Liao from Taiwan, China.

Tomato Vermouth (¥138) – Mancino Ambrato, tomato water, citrus. Light, savory, and easy drinking.

Tiki Negroni (¥148) – Tanqueray No.10, Campari, Mancino Secco, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, tropical fruit, milk. Not as bitter as a classic Negroni, and super silky.

FLAIR Martini (¥158) – Le Tribute Gin, plum wine, peach wine, Mancino Secco. Aromas of peach; a lighter version of the martini.

Not After Eight (¥158) – Get 27, Crème de Cacao, Branca Menta. A twist on a Grasshopper. Minty, creamy with a slight bitter finish. It’s dessert in a drink.

The Pear Thing (¥158) – Mestizo San Cosme, shochu, pear, buckwheat tea. Floral, fruity, and smoky with a smooth finish.

In addition, FLAIR also has house-commissioned Sunset Gin, an ode to the glorious sunset view. The spirit blends kaffir leaves, calamansi, aged orange peel, green tea, and angelica root, resulting in a bright, refreshing base for a gin & tonic.

Sunset Gin (¥88/glass, ¥980/bottle)

FLAIR also has a weekend afternoon tea, available Saturday and Sunday from 2pm-4:30pm.

The afternoon tea set for two is ¥598, includes two coffees, teas, or mocktails. Savory and sweet bites include yellowtail nigiri, sweet corn korokke, crabmeat spring roll, meatballs with mango salsa, scallop with sakura shrimp, mint sorbet, matcha fig charlottes, rice mousse, and pistacchio tart.
