“人与天地相参,与日月相应。故月满则海水西盛,人血气积。” ——《黄帝内经·灵枢·岁露论》


《黄帝内经》认为,人体气血变化与日月变化息息相关。月亮的引力造成了地球海洋的潮汐和每天时间的延异,月相周而复始,如同世间万物的循环不息。


从前现代社会以来,“月亮”就作为一个寄寓人类信仰投射与世界观照的多重符码,被赋予了无数的内涵。而“月亮在咆哮”则是基于“月亮”的警世意味,邀请并联结十四位艺术家,共同孕育生发一个多元宇宙道场。观照这个动荡不安的时代,日益恶劣的环境对我们赖以生存的世界、文明及生命意识有何影响?

"Man relates to the sky and the earth, and corresponds with the sun and the moon. So when the moon is full, the sea will be filled with water, and man will have abundant blood and qi.” Huang Di Nei Jing • Ling Shu • Sui Lu Lun 
Huang Di Nei Jing holds the view that the changes in blood and qi in human body are closely related to the changes of the sun and the moon. Gravitation of the moon leads to the variations of the ocean tides and duration of day. The moon phase shifts in cycles, just like everything in the world moves in eternal cyclical changes. Since the pre-modern society, the Moon has been embedded with countless connotations, as it serves as a multi-faceted symbol that reflects human's belief-projections and worldviews. It is based on the alarming meanings of the Moon, The Moon Is Roaring invites fourteen artists and connects them together, to jointly nurture and generate a multiverse. Look at this turbulent era and increasingly harsh environment: How do they impact our world, civilization and life consciousness?   (This exhibition is a continuation of the Moon is Roaring 2017)

策展人,艺术家,室内设计师。


刘琥珀的艺术创作媒介主要为绘画、装置、行为,多表达梦、女性主义、超现实主义及多元宇宙题材。 


她关注人与宇宙的关系,地球生态与万物生命意识及人类潜意识,从“泛灵论”视角出发,以戏谑性的语言及寓言的方式,反思动荡的时代,包括当下疫情时刻,对人类赖以生存的世界、文明及生命意识的影响。作品曾参展《不浪费型》、《回家——N95之家》、《壹拾捌》等艺术展览。 


Curator, Artist, Interior Designer Amber Liu’s artworks, mainly through mediums of painting, installation and performance, explore the themes of dream, feminism, surrealism and multiverse.  She pays attention to the relationship between human and the universe, the earth ecology, the life consciousness of everything and human sub-consciousness. From the perspective of "animism" and using playful language and fables, she reflects on the turbulent era, including the current moment of pandemics, and its impact on the world, civilization and life consciousness. Her works have been exhibited in art exhibitions including No Waste, Homecoming-N95 Home, and Eighteen.

这是艺术家的一个梦境:梦见艺术家张锰个展的空间场景,海水不知道从哪里漫延了进来,水漫到人的膝盖部位,展出艺术家最具代表性的当代水墨作品--“隐于树系列”的新作,由他直接画在墙面上,树干最底部及根部是真实的活生生的树,它们的根系在海底生长蔓延。海水清澈,可以看到其中的砂石,岩石,还有许多海洋生物,各种鱼类自由自在游动,靠近墙根的位置,竟然还有几只大鳄鱼,神情悠闲,带着笑意,与人类平安相处无事。


This is an artist’s dream, of the scene of another artist Zhang Mang's solo exhibition. The sea water spreads in from nowhere, and reaches people's knees. What is on display is the new piece of the series of Hidden in Trees, Zhang’s most representative contemporary ink painting work, which he directly painted onto the wall. The trees’ bottoms and roots are of real living trees, and they grow and spread on the seabed. The sea water is clear, through which one can see sand, rocks, and various marine creatures, including many kinds of fish swimming freely. There are even a few giant crocodiles crawling near the wall. With their leisurely facial expression and smile, they live with human in peace.

Zhang Meng

张锰


天津美术学院教授、实验艺术学院副院长、影像艺术系主任、硕士研究生导师、艺术家。


张锰是一位跨媒介艺术家, 他的作品介质游走于3D动画、多屏视频影像、绘画、装置, 其相关作品曾在德国、美国、日本、加拿大、比利时、澳大利亚、韩国等国家重要艺术机构展出,,尝试阐述中国现阶段“时间与空间”的关系,被文化机构与个人收藏。


张锰也是一位城市文化设计专家,曾任四届中国天津夏季达沃斯经济论坛艺术展示区新媒体艺术视觉总设计,从城市传统文化与当代美学相结合的观念入手,强调传统与当代并举,强调艺术与技术的结合的策略,凸显低碳、环保、可持续发展的总体设计理念,为现代城市人文空间提供具有贯通传统文化与人文历史又兼顾新观念的全新理念。


Zhang Meng is a professor of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, Deputy Dean of the School of Experimental Art, Director of the Video Art Department, Postgraduate Tutor, and Artist.


Zhang Meng is a multi-media artist, and his work hovers between 3D animation, multi-channel video, painting, and installation. His works have been exhibited at important art institutions in Germany, the United States, Japan, Canada, Belgium, Australia, and South Korea.He attempts to reveal the relationship between space and time at China’scurrent era. Zhang’s work has been collected by cultural institutions and individuals. 


Zhang Meng is also an expert in urband esign, and he was responsible for the design of the new media art section atthe Tianjin Summer Davos Economic Forum. Beginning with the combination of urban traditional culture and contemporary aesthetics, heemphasized the synchronicity of the traditional and the contemporary and the admixture of artistic and technological strategies. His designs highlight low-carbon, environmentally-friendly, and sustainable development concepts, injecting new ideas into modern urban and human spaces that integrate traditional culture and human history.

剧场舞台上的空间影像装置《白象剧场》用3d虚拟的方式探讨深沉的尊敬与爱意无处可去,在剧场中间虚拟影像阐释一只白象走在一支青竹子上,而青竹悬空在浩瀚的大海之上,白象走在人为的空中的绿色单杠之上,白象走在浅海中玩弄一个西瓜,白象的意向在佛教中是迎接招待最为尊贵的客人,而白象的虚无意向,正在探讨究竟什么值得我们尊敬与爱,现时代我们的处境是什么,世间什么值得我们尊敬,什么值得我们去爱,我们努力的生活生长,向着虚无,我们的爱无处可去,悬在空中,难以落地。


The space video installation "White Elephant Theater" on the theater stage uses a 3D virtual method to explore the deep respect and love that has nowhere to go. In the middle of the theater, the virtual image explains that a white elephant walks on a green bamboo, and the green bamboo is suspended in the air. On the vast sea, the white elephant walks on the green horizontal bar in the artificial sky, and the white elephant walks in the shallow sea to play with a watermelon. Intention, we are discussing what is worthy of our respect and love, what is our current situation, what is worthy of our respect in the world, what is worthy of our love, we strive to live and grow, toward nothingness, our love has nowhere to go, hanging. In the air, it is difficult to land.



Shen Piji

沈丕基近年来展现了不少沉浸式影像视觉声音现场,意在表达现代都市与山野之间,现实事物与魔幻梦境,真实和虚空的游离状态,尝试把古曲解构,利用电音与新媒体技术,重构出全新的古人意境声光现场。另一方面,又把现实生活过程中的电子硬件转换成视觉作品,同时也把兴趣放在了研究物理性发声装置上,从中国道家的自然性理解出发,有趣地构建着个人的立体多维度空间。


Shen Piji in recent years has exhibited many immersive video, visual and sound scenes. They attempt to express the drifting state between modern cities and mountainous countries, real things and magical dreams, reality and void. Using electronic music and new media technology, he tries to deconstruct ancient songs and reconstruct the brand new sound-and-light scenes to rearticulate the ancients' artistic conception. On the other hand, he converts the electronic hardware in the real life process to visual works. And at the same time, he is also interested in studying physical sounding devices. Based on his understanding of the Naturalness of Chinese Taoism, he constructs the individual’s multi-dimensional space in interesting ways.

现实与虚幻世界重叠为梦境空间,在都市生活与山野间游离着奇妙的意识动能,隐匿于世的远古传说。我们在反刍现实发生的事件,是追求自由“无待”的人生,还是存在“有待”的状态,时而清晰,时而模糊,时间在悄悄流逝。作为意识主体的人究竟能否确切地区分客体的真实和虚幻?自由意识与回归本源的哲学思想让人从梦中醒来,或许是缤纷的梦境,或许是浅淡的影像。艺术家沈丕基的现场古琴演奏,把《神化引》、《庄周梦蝶》两首古曲进行解构,结合电音、光影,空间维度重构成一场当代声光演绎,显化为传统与新媒体结合的空间艺术。


Reality and illusory world overlap into dream space, the wonderful conscious kinetic energy floats between urban life and mountainous country, and the remote ancient legend is hidden in the current world. We are regurgitating the events happening in reality - To pursue an "un-waiting" life of freedom, or a “waiting” life of existence? Sometimes clear, and sometimes vague, while time is passing quietly. Can a person as a subject of consciousness distinguish accurately between the real and illusory of the object? Free consciousness and the philosophical thought of returning to the origin awaken people from a dream, perhaps a colorful dream, or a light and pale image. Shen Piji’s live Guqin performance deconstructs the two ancient songs, "The Spirit of God" and "Zhuang Zhou's Dream of Butterfly." Combining electronic sound, light and shadow with the spatial dimensions, he reconstructs a contemporary sound-and-light interpretation that manifests a spatial art in which tradition is merged with new media. 



Qiu San

邱叁,数字图像技术研究员,跨界设计师,艺术创作以光为主要媒介以光遗传学里的光敏操作为思路模型,对作品进行逆向可视化的可能性实验;并运用雕塑,绘画,物件,电子设备等与之结合成一种全新的表现方式。


Qiu San, a digital imagery technology researcher and cross-border designer. Using light as the main medium and the photosensitive operation in optogenetics as his idea model, his art creation experiments on the possibility of reversed visualization of works. He also combines with sculpture, painting, objects, and electronic equipment, etc. to explore a new way of expression.

袭承艺术家的创作理念,作品用粒子的形态,通过光像素的节奏运动形成了一种信息逻辑回路。试图通过这个回路形成的状态让观者的感受从感光到被输入感知,这一单纯而不显现的行为里爆发的信息能量升维,从而获得新的观感体验。以奇幻的视觉效果预示地球失衡的生态,警示人们提升对地球环境保护的意识。


Inheriting Qiu’s concept, this work uses the form of particles and the rhythmic movement of light pixels to formulate an information logic loop. Through the state created by this loop, the viewers’ feeling can be changed from photosensitized to inputted perception. The viewers obtain a new perceptional experience through the upgrade of the information energy that bursts out from this simple and non-obvious behavior. By predicting the unbalanced earth ecology with fantastic visual effects, it alerts people to raise their awareness of protecting the earth environment.

黄思祈


对于黄思祈来说,世界是由不同维度相互重叠交错的空间所组成,她要用艺术创作实践来打开能在这些空间中自由穿梭的门路。在黄思祈的作品中,眼睛是最原始的符号;艺术家希望将她的“眼睛”交给观者,邀请观者跟随她的引领徜徉于迷离的时空之中。


她提出“多样的视觉”这个观点,以绚丽的色彩和各式的花样作渲染,制造一个个意识时空之眼,可以通过这心眼到达另一个空间维度,脱离现有你认知的定义,感受粒子般的意识飞越各种可能你可到达的空间和维度。


For Sikey Wong, the world is composed of overlapping and intertwined spaces in different dimensions, and she uses artistic practice to open the door to freely travel through these spaces. In her works, the eye is the most primitive symbol; the artist hopes to hand over her "eyes" to the viewers, to invite the viewers to follow her lead to wander into the blurred time and space. She proposes the concept of "various visions," rendering them with brilliant colors and different patterns, creating numerous eyes of consciousness in time and space, beyond the conventional definition. The particle-like consciousness soars through every possible space and dimension one can reach.

In the depth of every human soul there is a consciousness like cosmic consciousness, which has energy linked to the general universe. We may know it or feel it, but we cannot see it. In the film, I show the process like the one from a single cell being divided, combined, and genetically formed, to eventually explode. Hence everyone has the same energy as the Big Bang in the universe.

Often in Michael's paintings, hidden danger and hope coexist, disturbance and subtlety coexist, the artist uses mixed media, bold composition, brilliant colors, and sometimes a bird's eye view of the earth that's full of enormous cracks and disruptions, It's a unique perspective, and diagnosis of the earth's ill health. Elements such as plastic bags, e-wastes and medical syringes are not only used as symbols of environmental damage, but also used as spray paint stencils and give them new "recyclable" and "sustainable" life.

Michael Sheng is an observer and art "diagnostician" of the ecological environment. He intends to bring awareness to the issue of environmental protection, particularly the human impacts on the ecosystem which triggered climate change and all other domino effects on earth. Sometimes he paints with a mix of environmental waste, giving them a new "recyclable" and "sustainable" life.

由曼陀罗角度切入八卦,我们视觉化的空间都是曼陀罗。


很多人问我作品发想,这个行为艺术初衷:语言和逻辑是复杂和无力的,能量和感知力最直接。我们带动观众曼陀罗唱颂吧最直接的共振给到大家,每一次的作画能量都不一样,每一次的现场都不一样。唱颂带来的是共振、舞步带来的是视觉化、曼陀罗图腾带来的是空间疗。我们想用直接的方法传达直接的能量,直接的共振,非常简单轻松不复杂。


For taking  mandala as the breakthrough point to the Eight Trigrams, our visual space is full of mandala.


Many people ask me what  the original intention of this performance art is:Language and logic are complex and powerless, and energy and perception are the most direct. We drive the audience to do the mandala singing, which brings them the most direct resonance ,The painting energy and the scene are different every time. Singing praises brings resonance, dancing brings visualization, and mandala totem brings space healing. We want to convey the direct energy and resonance in a direct way, which is very simple, easy and not complicated.

穗子


穗子,音乐人。她于2013年开始进行即兴人声的表达,在山林里,大树上,小溪边,展览馆,音乐现场。2017年与加拿大音乐人Stephen发布了即兴音乐专辑《声音画布》,2019年发布《感恩》,2020年发布《疗愈》。受南传佛教的影响,2017年开始提出了即兴唱颂的概念,同时也开始进行即兴唱颂的教学, 与以往的即兴人声的不同,在于更加的强调我们人“心”的力量,心如何表达,如何应对。 


Suizi, Musician. She began to express improvised vocals in 2013, in forests, on trees, by streams, in exhibition halls and on music scenes. She released the improvised music album Sound Canvas, with Canadian musician Stephen, in 2017, Thanksgiving in 2019, and Healing in 2020. Influenced by the Southern Buddhism, she began to propose the concept of improvised singing in 2017 and started teaching it at the same time. Different from the previous improvised vocals, Suizi’s performance emphasizes more the power of our "heart" - how the heart expresses, and how its deals with the world.

在加拿大Stirling Rawdon森林深处,随性即兴唱颂,鸟儿们在我身后的树上欢声歌唱,我们与树木花草泥土雨露共鸣,同呼吸,浑然一体。


Deep in the forest of Stirling Rawdon, Canada, I sang spontaneously, and the birds sang happily in the trees behind me. We resonated with the trees, flowers, soil, rain and dews, breathing together, and becoming one.



Huang Junyao

黄珺尧,艺术创作涉及绘画、行为、诗歌。


神秘学研究与实践者。主攻占星学(西方现代占星、中国古典占星、卜卦占星、择日占星等。英国伦敦占星学院(LSA)第三年在读。美国NCGR国际地心宇宙研究学会会员,ISAR国际占星研究协会会员。师从Frank C Clifford 、Richard Swatton、Mark Jones、Steven Forrest、Lynn Bell等)、塔罗、魔法(天使魔法及PGM魔法)、奇门遁甲、梅花易数等。


Huang Junyao, her works involves painting, performance, and poetry. 


An occultism researcher and practitioner. Currently in her third year of study at the London School of Astrology, UK, majoring in astrology (Western modern astrology, Chinese classical astrology, horary astrology, day astrology, etc.).  A member of the NCGR International Geocentric Cosmos Research Society, US and the ISAR International Astrological Research Association. A pupil of Frank C Clifford, Richard Swatton, Mark Jones, Steven Forrest, Lynn Bell, etc. and once studied Tarot, magic (angel magic and PGM magic), Qimen Dunjia, Plum Blossom Yishu, etc.

从黄灿然2014年出版于飞地书局的诗集《发现集》中选出其中一首诗《余光》,将这首诗中所有的“光”字涂成黑色正方形。


Select “Yu Guang (remaining light)," one of the poems collected in Huang Canran's Discovery, published by Enclave Bookstore in 2014, and paint all the words "light" in the poem into black squares.



Huo Dongze

霍东泽


出生成长于古都西安,本科2008年毕业于西安美术学院,2014年获得美国旧金山艺术大学艺术硕士学位,当他第一次接触到当代艺术形式的存在时,便开始了尝试印染和混合媒介创作的研究方向。他的作品多以抽象元素为主,2014年在旧金山艺术大学春季展上,获研究生抽象绘画二等奖,同年在圣克鲁兹艺术联盟国家艺术展中获荣誉提名。


Dongze Huo was born and raised in Xi’an, China. He went on to study painting at Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts, where he earned his BFA in Painting in 2008. Later he earned his MFA in Painting from Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2014. Huo has participated in numerous exhibitions around the United States. Huo was encouraged to experiment with new media and themes. Huo became an Associate Member at Phoenix Gallery in 2015, a prestigious artist cooperative turned community-oriented arts center, where he recently participated in a member group. During the same year, he has been awarded one of five Finalists and the Honorable Mention by RE:ARTISTE International Art Competition. In 2017, his artwork image was selected as one of ten Finalists for the 7000 Pinwheels public installation at Prospect Park Brooklyn by The Connective Project – Prospect Park’s 150th committee. He currently works at Xi’an Peihua University in Xi’an, China.

艺术家放弃对画笔及色彩的控制,“无为”而作,情感自然流露,遵循内心真实的感受。似有似无的笔触和层层流淌覆盖的色彩又在暴力冲突之中透出某种抒情性和诗意感。


——Is there another soul staring down at me in the sky of the universe?
Artist gives up the control of brushes and colors, and works with "inaction", allowing his emotions naturally revealed and following the true feelings of his heart. Oscillating between existence and nothingness, the brushstrokes and layers of color flows reveal a certain lyricism and poetry out of the violent conflicts.

沈周来的从艺经历即是一次挣脱后现代城市工作者生存逻辑统治的历险,从放弃稳定的高薪工作到前路未卜的职业艺术家,其作品一如其人生,始终在突破苑囿、追寻自我、剖析真实内心并叩问自身存在,同时也从自身出发,冷静地审视着周围人群的存在状态及其相互关系。沈周来近期的绘画从色彩到图式都开始趋向于相对的理性表达,情感的出发点也从更多的自我剖析转向普适性的对他者的观照。 


Shen Zhoulai's artistic journey is an adventure to break free from the domination of postmodern urban workers' survival logic. From giving up a stable high-paying job to a ‘professional’ artist with uncertain future, he has been constantly trying in his works to break through constrains, purse his self, analyze the inner world and inquire existence. Shen also likes to start from himself, to calmly examine the existing state of the surrounding people and their interrelationships. His recent paintings tend to make more rational expressions in term of color to schema, and his starting point of emotion has also shifted from self-analysis toward more general observation of others.

香港理工大学语言学硕士,伦敦艺术大学艺术文化研究硕士,美国萨凡纳艺术大学讲师。


她以视觉艺术为核心,尝试不同媒介的创作,包括导演、美术指导、即兴剧场、大地艺术等,呈现了对时间与空间的解构,对身体、宇宙、记忆等议题的讨论。


Zeng Wanqiu is a visual artist and director base in Hong Kong. She completed Master of Arts in Chinese Linguistics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in and MA Arts and Cultural Enterprise in UAL. 


Zeng's work melds traditional oriental aesthetics with western art techniques in a growing modern context. Deeply rooted in her personal history, Wanqiu Zeng's work focuses on self-identity, cultural memory, and the sense of belonging.

我的记忆是潮湿的不连续的片段

试图用物象与心象模拟这种真实的虚幻

在混沌之中,构建时间与空间的错置感

在时空之外,寻找万物间的显微与无间

以记为忆,抵抗宏大叙事后的虚无

从在异乡的异乡人,到在家乡的异乡人

在不确定的未来之中,每一颗尘埃都有

自己的存在与在回不去的家乡

把自己种回来


The concept of the project  āgantuka-kleśa  is borrowed from Zen Buddhist Philosophy. The Sanskrit phrase āgantu-kleśa teaches that involuntary motions can settle atop each other to reveal previous attributes, once said "dust" is discovered and removed. 


Zeng's focus is on the interpretation of memory, observing its properties concerning her self-reflection of repeatedly uprooting from home. By dissecting its multi-faceted layers and stripping away the confinement of time, she captures the sentiment of longing and drifting by portraying her static images in a fluid state.er the industrialisation and development on its body. 


The yearning to reconnect has created a new reality, fragmented by displacement and time. By continuing this observation of memory and self-reflection for the different backgrounds, it is a nostalgia that one experience. Much like a drifting nomad in this rapidly changing world, perhaps we are all scattered and stray. 


The dim, dreamlike perspective that characterizes her works induces a feeling of transmutation and haze. Agantu-klesa: Nostalgia' for the future  invites the viewer to immerse themselves and incorporate their own pasts.
