Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
It is as important for older people to study or learn new things as it is for younger people.

题目解析
2018年到目前为止，关于“老年人和年轻人”的话题，出现过三次，前面两次的考题分别为：
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
It is better for elders to take risks and explore new things than young people. （2018年2月4日）
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Physical exercise is more important to older people than to younger people. （2018年5月19日）
大家应该可以发现18年12月1日的考题，与今年年初2月4日的考题基本相同。所以提醒各位考生，对于往期考过的话题分析，要多多关注、学会积累思路和相应的分析展开技巧。
对于该题，需要思考的方向有两个：
1） 老年人和年轻人的区别，比如：
老年人在工作上已经相对稳定，在生活上相对追寻安逸；而年轻人在工作上应该一直有所追求，取得更好的发展机会，在生活上也往往趋于追寻更加丰富多彩的经历
2） 学习新事物本身的优点和缺点，比如：
学习新的事物，必然需要投入时间和精力，面对更多的挑战甚至挫折，当然学习新的事物，会使得自己本身的能力，人脉等等都会有所提升，从而可以获得更多的机会
另外，该题应该属于“微观型”话题（即：与本人关系极为密切的题目）；针对这一特点，大家可以从与我们最为紧密的三个层面进行理由思考：学习，工作，生活。
根据以上两个角度，我们可以从工作和生活两个思路下手、找寻相关理由并且展开。
建议选择disagree：the importance for older people to learn or study new things is not equivalent to that for younger people; in other words, it is more important for younger people to learn and study new things.
理由1：工作角度
相关话术：learning about and studying new things means getting involved in new fields, push the young to devote more time and energy to try various things such as searching for more information, dealing with more problems and so on, enables them to obtain more skills and capabilities, definitely win more chances, increase the possibilities for them to become more successful in terms of their jobs in such a severely competitive job environment（对于老年人来说，更多的是希望自己工作稳定即可，没有太多精力去尝试新的挑战甚至是涉及新的领域）
理由2：生活角度
相关话术：learning about and studying new things, broaden our horizons, prevent us from feeling tired of the status quo, make our life full of expectation and surprise, enable ourselves to continue to gain a sense of accomplishment; inevitably meet more people and then establish more friendships, make their lives more colorful（对于老年人来说，他们更多的是安于现状因为新的事物里隐含着一定的风险，可能会给生活带来一定的变数）
