Travel Restriction for Expats Relaxed Between Mainland and Macau
According to the Novel Coronavirus Infection Strain Coordination Centre, from 0:00 on May 5, 2021, non-local residents (foreigners) who do not have the status of residents of Mainland, Hong Kong SAR or Taiwan may enter Macao with prior approval from the Health Bureau if they have not been outside the Mainland or Macao for 21 days prior to entry and fall under the exception of family reunion or other close ties with the Macao SAR, in order to better facilitate eligible Non-residents (foreigners) who are eligible to travel between Macau and the Mainland.
In response to the implementation of the new measures, the Department of Health's website has been expanded to include an online "Foreigner Entry Application System" for those in need.

The biggest benefit of the new measure is that foreign nationals with visas issued by the Diplomatic Office who used to return to the Mainland from Macau must stay in the Mainland for 21 days before they can apply for entry to Macau under the previous instructions.新措施的最大好处在于持外交公署发出签证的外籍人士，过往由澳门回内地，必须留在内地21日后，才能符合旧批示要求申请来澳；新批示可即时申请重新来澳，方便这些人士便利往返澳门与内地。
