Chris Collins

Chris Collins，纽约大学语言学教授，句法学家。对包括埃维语和科斯语等语言在内的非洲语言有着浓厚的研究兴趣。其研究领域主要为回指、论元结构、否定以及省略。

Chris Collins is Professor of Linguistics at New York University. He is a syntactician with an interest in African languages, including Ewe (West Africa) and the Khosian languages (southern Africa). His research focuses on anaphora, argument structure, negation, and ellipsis.

Noam Chomsky

乔姆斯基（Noam Chomsky）教授全名Avram Noam Chomsky，是享誉世界的美国语言学家、哲学家、认知科学家、政治批评家和历史学家。1928年12月7日出生于美国宾夕法尼亚州费城的一个中产阶级犹太家庭。乔姆斯基教授是当今国际公认的最伟大的知识分子之一，在诸多学术和科研领域都作出了杰出贡献，包括语言学、逻辑与数学、计算机科学、心理学、媒体研究、哲学、政治与国际事物等，他的学术地位可与伽利略、牛顿和笛卡尔比肩。乔姆斯基教授著作等身，著有书籍约150本，并且屡获殊荣，曾荣获悉尼和平奖、京都奖（有“日本诺贝尔奖”之称）等数十个极具声望的奖项。同时，他还被全球最著名的几十所大学授予了荣誉博士学位。乔姆斯基教授现为麻省理工学院荣休教授、亚利桑那大学桂冠教授。

Noam Chomsky, in full Avram Noam Chomsky, an American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist and historian, was born into a middle-class Jewish family, on December 7, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. He is internationally recognized as one of the most important intellectuals alive. His intellectual stature has been compared to that of Galileo, Newton and Descartes, as his work has had tremendous influence on a variety of areas of scholarly and scientific inquiry, including linguistics, logic and mathematics, computer science, psychology, media studies, philosophy, politics and international affairs. He is the author of some 150 books and the recipient of scores of highly prestigious awards, including the Sydney Peace Prize and the Kyoto Prize (Japan’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize), and of dozens of honorary doctorate degrees from the world’s most renowned universities. Chomsky is Institute Professor Emeritus at MIT and currently Laureate Professor at the University of Arizona.
