Delivery Man Confirmed COVID Case, Received 50 Daily Orders...

GICexpat 2020-08-28

Two COVID-19 cases were confirmed on June 21, including a food delivery man who had been working with Ele.me and delivered an average of 50 orders during his shift from 7 AM to 9 PM, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports.

The 47-year-old man was transferred to the Chuiyangliu Hospital for further analyses.

Two days later, on June 23, Ele.me made an official announcement after it asked all riders who had been in contact with the alleged patient to suspend their service and remain in quarantine under the supervision of designated isolation centers.

The situation was controlled very promptly by both Ele.me and relevant medical authorities to ensure other services would not be disturbed, and the safety of their consumers in Beijing would not be in jeopardy.

Ele.me also expressed its plan to continue testing all of its active riders and corporate with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, putting the health and safety of its staff, consumers, and the wider communities in Beijing at the top of its priority list.

Considering this news, would you feel comfortable continuing to use Ele.me? Which food delivery app do you usually use?
