A hospital in Chengdu, capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan Province, has recently witnessed an epic love story between two patients who had been a couple for eight years before splitting up. 

They were both admitted to a hospital for depression due to the breakup before they finally got back together.  

The couple broke up two years ago because of misunderstandings. Both thought the other had had affairs but both were too proud to ask, so they went on different ways and moved on with their lives. 

However, finding it hard to let go of their loved one, the two both suffered from depression and were at the same time admitted to the same local hospital, where they met again. 

In a video circulating online featuring the romantic reunion, the two sat side by side in patient gowns talking with faces toward a window, while looking at each other from time to time. The two finally patched things up under the persuasion of nurses. 

The love story has been hailed by netizens as "even more unexpected and romantic than movies," and some joked that they are so destined to be together that it was not just a "thread" tying them to each other but rather "a steel wire."
