学经和修行哪个更重要
Is Study or Practice More Important?
现在有些人劝大家不要学经论，说这没有什么意义，一定要实际修行。
Some people now persuade everyone not to study the sutras and shastras, saying that these are meaningless and people must engage in actual practice.
这种说法不正确，试想，假如你从来没有闻思过，又岂会真正懂得修行呢？
This is not correct. Just think—if you have never studied or contemplated, how can you really know how to practice?
纵然释迦牟尼佛在世，也会要求我们先闻法、再思维、后修行。
If Shakyamuni Buddha were in the world, he would still ask us to first study the Dharma, then to reflect on it, and finally to practice it.
萨迦班智达也说过：“没有闻思而去实修，就像断臂之人想爬上悬崖一样，无疑是痴心妄想。”
Sakya Pandita also said, “Plunging into practice without having studied or reflected is like someone with a broken arm trying to climb a cliff. It is undoubtedly wishful thinking.”
可是，当今个别所谓的“上师”，自己根本不懂佛法经论，一辈子也从未学过一部论典。
Today, however, some “gurus” do not understand the Buddhadharma and the sutras at all, nor have they studied a single shastra in their lives.
所以，他们特别不赞叹闻思，一味地让人们直接修行，
So they vehemently oppose studying and reflection, and they indiscriminately allow students to begin to practice immediately.
这只是在以盲引盲、误人子弟。
This is the blind leading the blind, and the followers are led astray.
既然从未闻思过佛法，那又如何摄受弟子呢？
If they have never studied or reflected on the Buddhadharma, how do they take on disciples?
如果连佛教的基本教理、名词术语都不知道，
If they do not even know the basic Buddhist teachings and terms,
却告诉别人不要看经论，
why do they tell others to not read the sutras and shastras,
说自己这里以修行为主，理论方面并不重要，
claiming that they themselves focus on practice and that theories are not important?
这种说法实在是愚痴又荒谬！
These words are truly deluded and absurd!
无垢光尊者指出：“只有闻思究竟的人，才能证悟无上大圆满。”
The omniscient Longchenpa pointed out, “Only people who have mastered study and reflection can realize the ultimate Great Perfection.”
可见，若想修有所成，一定要有广大的闻思。
It is clear that if you wish to attain spiritual accomplishments, you must undertake extensive study and reflection.
我认为，在佛教里，再也没有比闻思更重要的事情了。
I believe that in Buddhism, there is nothing more important than study and reflection.
昔日的喇拉曲智仁波切，是继麦彭仁波切之后又一位非凡的大德，
In the old days, following in the steps of Mipham Rinpoche, Lala Chudzi Rinpoche was another outstanding master.
他说：“对讲闻佛法不满或是不愿意闻思的人，即生得不到解脱；
He said, “A person who is dissatisfied with people lecturing about and listening to the Buddhadharma, or unwilling to study and reflect on it themselves, is unable to attain liberation in their life.
而对闻思作诽谤的人，若想得到暂时和究竟的解脱，犹如石女希望生儿子一样，根本就是不可能的事。”
As for someone who denigrates study and reflection to attain temporary or ultimate liberation would be like a barren woman bearing a son—utterly impossible!”
所以，希望大家学佛一定要先闻思。
Therefore, I hope that everyone will first study and reflect on the Dharma when practicing Buddhism.
否则，没有因的话，果又岂会产生呢？
Otherwise, without the cause, how can the effect be produced?
若想不学习就得到智慧，这在佛典中找不到任何依据。
You will not find any precedent in the Buddhist teachings of someone who obtained wisdom without studying.
要知道，脱离了闻思的修行，完全是一种盲修瞎炼，
A practice devoid of study and reflection is a completely blind and aimless practice.
我保证这种人不会生起与佛法相应的真实见解。
I can guarantee that practitioners like this will not arrive at a true understanding that accords with the Buddhadharma.
如今，有些人仅仅是住在寂静的地方，整天打坐什么都不想，
Nowadays, some people merely live in a quiet place and meditate all day without thinking about anything.
这样没有佛法窍诀的引导，哪怕枯坐了五六年，修行上也不一定有任何进展。
Without the guidance of Buddhadharma’s methods, even if they sit idly for five or six years, there still might not be any progress in their practice.
