Height is the first impression for many people, especially when looking for their other half. It is safe to say that many girls around the world consider the taller the boy is, the better.
Over the years, the average height of Chinese people has been rising astronomically. And the preference for the height of the significant half in women has also changed with this trend.
High school years is the age that many boys enter a period of rapid physical growth, and their height surpasses their female counterparts remarkably during this period. Many Chinese parents would also go out of their way to make sure that their male children reach a desirable height during these years.
These men would also begin to realize the advantage of height as soon as they enter college when their taller counterparts become the center of attention among females.
Over the past years in China, many people considered 180cm to be the ideal height for a boy, but new research has shown that 180cm is no longer considered a preferred height for boys by women in China.
The research, which was conducted among female college students in various regions in China, showed that the ideal height range women in China preferred for the significant half is 173cm to 185cm.
178cm came at the top as the most preferred height for a boyfriend for many female college students in China. Many said that this height pairs well with girls of any height.
Coming in at number two is 180cm, but some mentioned that it is not ideal for women less than 170cm tall.
The third ideal height is 173cm, although this height is considered short, the average height of women in China is 163cm, and this means 173cm is perfect for many women in China.
175cm, 185cm and 182cm were ranked fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
170cm and 190cm took the seventh and eighth positions respectively.
