WeChat rolled out an update on August 29. As usual, the app store notice only mentioned "Bug fixes and improvements" in the "What's New" section. However, some users have noticed three features that were considered useful by netizens.
The last feature mentioned in this article is absolutely stunning!Feature 1: Shows the duration of voice messages on the homepageBefore the update, you could not see the duration of voice messages on the homepage (a page showing all chats)
After the update, you can see the voice message's duration directly from the homepage.It is worth noting that this feature was already available on Android version 8.0.40.Feature 2: Disable "Recent" Music and Audio. When you pull down the homepage, you can see all the audio, music and mini programs you used recently.
With this update, you can hide them.How? Go to "Me", "Settings", "General", "Music&Videos", and you can disable the "Personalized Recommendations". Then you will find a newly added button to disable the "Recent" feature.
Feature 3: Use another profile to leave commentsBefore this update, your WeChat username will be displayed when leaving comments on various platforms such as WeChat Official Accounts.This update allows users to change their profile, they can use their WeChat Channel's username for example to leave comments on official accounts.They can also leave a comment using their WeChat Official Account's profile.How? Just tap the green arrows next to your username (as shown in the image above) and you will be able to change your profile to another name.There is also an option to create a new profile. Why is this feature so cool?1. If you use your WeChat Official Account's profile to leave comments, then other users will be redirected to your WeChat Official Account if they click the profile picture, which can increase engagement to your own official account.
2. The same applies if you use your WeChat Channel's profile to leave comments.3. Privacy: You can create an anonymous profile to leave comments and protect your privacy.
