1. 受疫情不确定性影响，本届论坛最终组织方式视疫情防控要求和报名人员情况确定。

2. 受邀参加本届论坛的优秀青年学者，原则上已在国内的、符合疫情防控要求的学者可现场参会，仍在国外的学者以线上形式参加；现场参会期间的国内往返交通费（旅票自订，保留相关票据提交至会务组，论坛结束后实报实销，机票限报经济舱，高铁限报二等座，交通费合计限额为5000元/人）及食宿费由学校承担。

3. 受邀参会的青年学者，需提前准备学术报告。

江西省支持条件：推荐申报江西省“双千计划”人才项目、“井冈学者”人才项目，如入选，给予一定的项目资助和人才补贴。

南昌市支持条件：一次性就业、安家、租房等生活补贴5万元；首次将户口迁移至南昌（含集体户口），每人发放1000元落户奖励。

学校简介

Meet in the City of Hero and Celebrate the Centennial

Announcement of the 4th International Young Scholars Forum of Nanchang University

I. Introduction to the Forum

We start a new journey of forging ahead after a hundred years of development despite of wind and rain. Nanchang University, which has spanned a hundred years, is inheriting the spirit of running a school for a hundred years, carrying through the new development concept, implementing the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating people, paying close attention to the construction of "Double First-class", strengthening self-reliance in science and technology with a higher historical positioning and a larger vision of pattern, thereby making new and greater contributions to the high-quality leap-forward development of Jiangxi.

In order to further gather a group of outstanding young scholars at home and abroad to conduct the research on academic hotspots and cutting-edge issues, promote the subject construction and academic innovation, enhance mutual cooperation and trust, and accelerate the pace of "Double First-class" construction of the University, the University plans to hold the 4th International Young Scholars Forum from December 15 to 17, 2021.

II. Arrangement of the Forum

Deadline for application: December 8, 2021 (tentative)

Forum invitation: Now - December 10

Check-in for Forum: December 15, 2021

Forum holding time: December 15 - 17, 2021 (main forum, sub-forum, etc.)

III. Scholars to be Invited 

1. Scholars who love China's higher education undertakings, support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, observe discipline and obey the law, scrupulously abide by the professional ethics, and have the rigorous and standardized academic attitude.

2. Scholars who have obtained the doctor’s degrees from the well-known universities or research institutions at home and abroad, have made certain achievements in the frontier fields of subjects and have the excellent development potential.

3. Scholars who have intention to work in Nanchang University.

4. Scholars who commit to abide by the relevant policies and requirements of this forum on epidemic prevention and control.

IV. Participation Ways

1. The eligible young scholars at home and abroad shall log into the registration system to register and fill in the relevant information:

2. The University will examine the qualifications of the registered scholars and send the electronic invitation letters to the approved scholars in batches.

3. The invited scholars shall fill in the receipt and confirm whether to attend the forum within two weeks after receiving the invitation letters.

VI. Special Instructions

1. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the final organization mode of the Forum is determined according to the requirements of epidemic prevention and control and the situations of applicants.

2. As for outstanding young scholars invited to participate in the Forum, the scholars who are already in China in principle and meet the requirements of epidemic prevention and control can attend the Forum on the spot, and scholars who are still abroad can participate online. During the on-site participation, the domestic round-trip transportation expenses (travel tickets are self-ordered; the relevant bills shall be kept and submitted to the Forum Affairs Group for reimbursement of actual costs after the Forum is over; the air tickets are limited to the economy class; the high-speed rail tickets are limited to the second-class seats; the total transportation expenses are limited to RMB 5,000/person) and board and lodging expenses will be borne by the University.

3. The young scholars invited to attend the Forum shall prepare the academic reports in advance.

VII. Talent Introduction

1. Talent categories for introduction

According to the professional ability and academic level, the introduced talents are divided into four categories: outstanding talents, leading talents in subjects, leaders in subject directions and excellent talents in subjects.

2. Treatments for introduced talents 

Support conditions in Jiangxi Province: The talents will be recommended to apply for the such talent programs as "Double Thousand Talents Plan" and "Jinggang Scholar" in Jiangxi Province. If they have been selected, they will obtain certain project funding and talent subsidies.

Support conditions in Nanchang City: The living allowances for one-time employment, settle-down, renting, etc. are RMB 50,000; for those who transfer the household registration to Nanchang (including collective household registration) for the first time, each person will be awarded a reward of RMB 1,000 for settle-down.

Support conditions of Nanchang University: The treatments vary according to specific talent. The sufficient scientific research funding will be provided. In addition, the University also will provide a suite of talent turnover room and properly arrange the works of spouse. The children of the talents will enjoy the high-quality basic education resources; high-quality basic education resources will be given, and the kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools affiliated to Nanchang University in all regions of Nanchang will provide the high-quality educational resources and services for the children of talents; the Grade III Level A hospitals affiliated to the University will provide the high-quality medical security and service.

VIII. University Profile 

Nanchang University is located in Nanchang, the City of Hero, which is a famous historical and cultural city in China. Nanchang University (NCU) is a comprehensive university listed among the “the Word First-class Universities” in the national “Double First-class” Initiative of China and the only “211 Project” national key university in Jiangxi Province. It is co-constructed by the Ministry of Education of PRC and Jiangxi Province, and it is the university listed in the high-level university overall construction project in Jiangxi Province.

NCU hosts five major faculties which are: Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Science & Technology (Division I), Faculty of Science & Technology (Division II), and Faculty of Medicine. It offers 132 bachelor's degree programs of 12 disciplines, 22 doctor’s degree conferring programs of the first-level discipline, 50 master’s degree conferring programs of the first-level discipline, 3 categories of doctor’s professional degree conferring programs and 29 categories of master’s degree professional conferring programs and 11 postdoctoral programmes. 8 disciplines of the University, e.g. Chemistry, Clinical Medicine, Agricultural Sciences (mainly Food Science and Engineering), Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Biology and Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Genetics, rank among the first 1% of ESI in the world; among them, the Agricultural Sciences (mainly Food Science and Engineering) ranks among the first 1.15‰ of ESI, Clinical Medicine ranks among the first 2.56‰ of ESI, and Chemistry ranks among the first 3.29‰ of ESI in the world.
