单词回顾 | 他们都是如何用“ground”和“address”造句的？

点评：如果“the Christian right”是“基督教的力量”的意思的话，可以说“the power of Christianity”；但考虑到后面接的是“gaining ground”，前面应该用“Christianity”。“gaining ground”相当于“making progress”，其中“ground”的意思和图片上的意思不一样。

我按照作者的意思，将句子做了改写：

6月1日的单词是“address”，作动词时有一个意思基本等同于“solve”。

点评：后半句有点问题。如果是只有少数国家有动力，应该是“only a few”；如果是没什么国家有动力，则应该是“few”。改写如下：

Although most governments admit that global warming is a pressing issue threatening the survival of human species/humans/humanity/human beings, only a few/few have the incentive to address it.

4. The candidate vowed to address the unemployment problem in the election campaign.

点评：很好的句子，动词“vow”用得很准确。
