China's central bank issued a set of commemorative banknotes for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games on Tuesday. The set includes a polymer note and a paper note. Both notes, with a denomination of 20 yuan, feature the official emblem of the 24th Winter Olympics on the obverse. The polymer note and the paper note feature figure skaters and a freestyle skiing athlete on the front side, respectively.

中国人民银行12月21日发行第24届冬季奥林匹克运动会纪念钞一套，包括塑料钞（冰上运动项目纪念钞）和纸钞（雪上运动项目纪念钞）各1张，面额均为20元。冰上运动项目纪念钞正面为花样滑冰运动员图案，雪上运动项目纪念钞图案正面图案为自由式滑雪运动员图案，均印有北京2022年冬奥会会徽。

China launched a Long March-7A rocket to place two satellites in space on Thursday.

12月23日，中国用长征七号改运载火箭成功将两颗卫星发射升空。

The rocket blasted off at 6:12 p.m. (Beijing Time) at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in southern Hainan Province and soon sent Shiyan-12 01 and Shiyan-12 02 satellites into preset orbit.

北京时间23日18时12分，火箭在文昌发射场成功发射，将试验十二号卫星01星、02星送入预定轨道。

Developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the pair of satellites will do space environment surveys and other related technology tests, the state-owned company said in a statement.

试验十二号卫星01星、02星由中国航天科技集团研制。这家央企在一份声明中表示，两颗卫星将用于空间环境探测及相关技术试验。

As a modified version of the Long March-7 rocket, the launch vehicle represents the new generation of China's medium-sized high-orbit rocket.

China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Monday held a flag-raising ceremony and a reception to mark the 22nd anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland and the establishment of the Macao SAR.

澳门特区政府20日举行升旗仪式和酒会等活动，庆祝澳门回归祖国暨澳门特别行政区成立22周年。

Ho Iat Seng, chief executive of the Macao SAR, said at the reception that Macao will continue to build and complete legal systems and enforcement mechanisms safeguarding national security so as to ensure its long-term prosperity and stability.

澳门特区行政长官贺一诚在庆祝酒会致辞时表示，澳门特区将持续建立健全维护国家安全的法律制度和执行机制，确保澳门长期繁荣稳定。

The Macao SAR will resolutely implement the principles of "one country, two systems" and "Macao people administering Macao" with a high degree of autonomy, earnestly safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests, and continuously enhance residents' national consciousness and patriotism, Ho said.

贺一诚表示，澳门特区将坚定践行“一国两制”、“澳人治澳”、高度自治的方针，切实维护国家主权、安全、发展利益，不断增强广大居民的国家意识和爱国精神。

Chinese live-stream shopping influencer Huang Wei, known as Viya, has been hit with a whopping $210 million penalty for tax evasion and kicked off social media.

日前，中国知名直播带货主播黄薇（网名：薇娅）因偷逃税被处以13.41亿元巨额罚款，这一消息引爆了社交媒体。

Viya — also known in China as the "live-streaming queen" — was ordered to pay 1.34 billion yuan in back taxes, late fees and fines, the State Taxation Administration said Monday on its website.

黄薇在中国有“直播一姐”之称。12月20日，国家税务总局官网通报，对黄薇追缴税款、加收滞纳金并处罚款，共计13.41亿元。

From 2019 to 2020, Huang evaded more than 640 million yuan ($100 million) in taxes "by falsely reporting the commission income she earned from live-streaming platforms," a tax official in Hangzhou said on Monday.

Twenty-seven people are feared dead after a fire swept through a mental health clinic in the Japanese city of Osaka, the local fire department said.

The blaze is being treated as suspected arson, the Kyodo news agency said, quoting police sources saying that a man who appeared to be in his 60s had been seen carrying a paper bag leaking an unidentified liquid.
