特朗普强调了他的政府为开发新冠疫苗付出的努力，该计划被命名为“超快行动”。他表示:“当我说‘快’的时候，我们希望能在今年年底前完成。”

同时，“1月11日”这个时间点立刻引起了网友的关注。

1月11日，美国开始研发疫苗，这比3月中旬美国新冠疫情暴发整整早了2个月。

President Donald Trump on Friday said Americans could see a vaccine for the novel coronavirus by the end of the year.

Trump was talking at an event to launch a White House initiative for quick vaccine development, dubbed "Operation Warp Speed." "When I say 'quickly,' we're looking to get it by the end of the year if we can. Maybe before,” he claimed.

He said that U.S. scientists began developing a vaccine as early as January 11, even though the first case in the country wasn’t detected until January 21.

Many in the United States wondered why the Trump, if he indeed was as proactive as he claims, failed to act in a timely fashion to stem the spread of the virus. Others vented out their frustration at the inaptitude of the current administration, while some tried to find holes in Trump’s story, highlighting contradictory information in his statements over time.
