Wow! New Style of the Palace Museum Culture!? Love it!

Crystal Huang GuideinChina 2019-03-29

I think everyone knows about the Palace Museum, right?!

Recently the Palace Museum with its new show

"上新了,故宫" made the top of the search list.

Following the footage of the program, guests explored the "private garden" that had not yet been opened. They visited the Royal Academy, which had a collection of ten thousand volumes, and the secret underground palace...

An estimated 65% of the Palace Museum is open to visitors, and it’s the first time that the remaining 35% has been unveiled!!!

 Let's continue to look!!

Speaking of the magnificent transformation of the Palace Museum, the dean, Shan Jixiang, definitely contributed! He paid much effort to promote the cultural and creative development of the Palace Museum.

The Palace Museum has been dignified for hundreds of years. Since Shan Jixiang took over, a new style of painting has emerged as if injected with an interesting soul!!

He made sweeping changes:

First, he banned smoking in the city, then illegal buildings were demolished.

Private cars are forbidden to enter the palace.

Shan Jixiang offended many people, but as long as the exchange for a new young Palace Museum was in full motion, he felt it was worth it.

The number of visitors in the Forbidden City, a national pilgrimage destination, rose to 16.7 million people annually in 2017.

To ease the pressure, he has opened 32 ticket windows to ensure that visitors can buy tickets within 3 minutes.  He then restricted the daily flow of visitors to 80,000 through real-name ticketing and traffic restrictions. After that, electronic online self-service ticket buying was implemented. He also bought for more than 1,400 solid wood chairs to be placed in every corner of the Forbidden City.

And in the face of the Palace Museum ticket prices will be questioned

Shan Jixiang also gave a very clear answer:

Never raise the price!

There are many cats in the Palace Museum,

they will be fed and be taken good care of every day.

Shan Jixiang also said:

We all regard them as colleagues because of these excellent colleagues,

we don't have a mouse in the Palace Museum.

How can we make everyone fall in love with the Forbidden City while at the same time spreading its culture?

The method that dean Dan thinks of is to open a Taobao shop.

He quickly built a research and development team,

then excavated materials from the buildings,

cultural relics and historical stories of the Forbidden City.

Below are some of the items:

Little ornaments

Umbrellas

After five years of research and development, the Palace Museum now has more than 10,000 cultural and creative products, with annual sales of more than 1 billion yuan. And the income, in addition to academic research, the money is used for schools, communities education to let the next generations love Chinese culture.

More and more young people are willing to understand and like the Palace Museum, which is becoming more energetic and warm. However, no one knows how much effort dean Shan has made to change the stereotype of the Forbidden City for more people.

Today, the Palace Museum is becoming a lot more

appreciated by people who can experience it in various forms.

They are becoming fans of the Forbidden City.

In two years, the Forbidden City will celebrate its 600th birthday.
