China releases 13 new professions to keep pace with the economy on April 3, 2019.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the General Administration of Market Supervision and the National Bureau of Statistics of China have released information on 13 new jobs to the public.

What are the 13 new jobs?

Artificial Intelligence Technicians

Internet of Things (IOT) Technicians

Cloud Computing Technicians

Digital Manager

Building Information Model Technicians

E-sports Operator

E-sport Player

Unmanned aerial vehicle pilots

In recent years, social development has brought about the structural adjustment of the industry. It involves not only the industry but also the workplace itself and deeply affects employment in China.

For example, the birth of a new professional digital manager is regarded as the inevitable choice for the overall economic development to enter a new stage.

According to the data report released by CAICT, the overall market size of China's digital economy reached 27.2 trillion yuan in 2017. Its contribution to GDP was as high as 55%!

This new career, which was born out of Alibaba's enterprise service platform, is playing an increasingly important role in the digital economy.

E-sport players are now officially recognized!!!

In recent years, driven by international competitions, computer-based competitive projects have developed rapidly, and e-sports have become a huge emerging industry.

Many Chinese netizens are excited with comments like the following:

“Wow! Finally! Playing games can be a job!!!”

“I can earn lots of money playing games and I won’t have to be scolded by my parents!”

The critics say:

“If you play games so well then you can be a professional e-sports player but if you are a bad player then you just have an internet addiction.”

Another new job that is confusing people is Unmanned aerial vehicle pilots.

What is it?

By definition, a drone pilot is a person who controls a drone to complete a given flight mission through a remote control device.

The ministry of human resources and social security said that with the maturity of unmanned aerial vehicle (uavs) technology, it is possible to use uavs to complete difficult, dangerous, toxic, and harmful work that is difficult for humans to complete. Uavs can be used for plant protection, surveying and mapping, photography, high-voltage cables and agricultural and forestry inspection. Uavs also have broad application space in logistics and other fields.

We're gonna give you the scoop on the significance of the release of these new professional jobs:

First, it is conducive to promoting employment and entrepreneurship.

Secondly, it is conducive to promoting the reform of vocational education and vocational training.

Thirdly, it is helpful to improve the occupational classification and occupational standard system in China.

Are you working in any of these new industries or have any interest in them?
